Something I just commited (pics ofcourse)

    Hey guys,
So today finally I picked a couple of pics from my phone and after some research on how to post pics & watermarking them (in the coffee lounge thread under universal ) which I should have & must have know for ages.., but never mind

So these are a couple of pics of my ABS in the front

    Abs at the back...

You shall notice that my brake hoses have been positioned to a diff setup (positions ) than normal.

And my beloved angel eyed babe.. just for fun ( the below pic is much older than ABS ones back then just the normal stock brakes so they are missing)

Do tell me what you feel , critics always welcome, I wish I could post some nice quality pics but m newbie in photography and all..

I have posted same pics with the R15 owners as well , I hope I have not annoyed anybody

    Love Defined...

Am thinking for adding this abs on my Unicorn and be glad if you answer a few question-
      1. Do I have to add 2nd rear disc brake for abs to perform effectively? OR
      2. Is 1 abs fitment on the existing front disc enough?
      3. What feedback has the front brake giving you (I mean how has it changed for better)?

Is it still available ? The saferide site seems to be down? And do you need a separate attachment for Bajaj bikes ? if so from where can I get it

            Electronic ABS for Ninja 300

Here it is; India's first aftermarket fitment of Electronic ABS system on a Ninja 300. Uses a Bosch ABS ECU control unit and works flawlessly (not my bike).

This same mod was done ages ago, posted on motozones page. Definitely not Indias first.

This is the same bike. It belongs to my friend Pushkar and I was intimately involved in the development of the same. So yes, it is definitely India's first.

The ECU cum hydraulic pressure regulator and sensors are from Bosch. The OEM ABS system on the N300 is a Nippon Denso system. The Bosch unit is much superior in terms of hardware as well as software. The SS break lines are custom made by HEL for this application. Interestingly, Bosch supplies this same ECU cum hydraulic regulator for various sizes of bikes ranging from 125cc to super bikes. Therefore the hardware on all these bikes is common. The difference is the hex table values. The values of the hex table differ based on the application.

Great. But with some of the pulsar ring covered from behind by the disc of front braking system, wouldnt it assume that the wheel is locked and release brake pressure even in normal braking. I believe that there would not be a sufficient amount of magnetic interruption by that area. There are ABS pulsar rings having no holes but their tread is very great. Here its rather flat. Please clarify.

                          regards.

I am not getting what you are trying to say. I have not studied the Pulsar setup so really can't comment on it. As far as working of the system that has been put on the N300 is concerned, it works flawlessly. In fact, according to Pushkar it is so good that he uses the rear break to trail brake due to the system not allowing the rear wheel to lock.

Hi. The pulsar ring doesnt mean ABS of Bajaj Pulsar bike. The ring that you have put on the disc brake which is read by ABS sensors is called pulsar ring. I hoped you would know that, anyways.

There are two types of Pulsar rings(some people refer to it a pulser ring), one with holes(the one that you have used) and the other which has tread pattern on it.

For the one with holes, if the holes are covered (as in your case by the front disc). when such a section passes through the sensor, the sensor will feel that the wheel has locked(even though it hasnt), reducing pressure on the brake. So, the ABS is reducing pressure when such an area passes under and becomes passive only when region with holes pass under it. Hope you are getting the picture. So even under light and casual braking, ABS will assume a wheel lock and result in no braking for that instance.

Technically, the setup is wrong. There are two separate components in this case, one for disc and other for ABS sensor ring. Rather,it should have an integrated ABS pulsar ring with front brake disc(one component, two features), like the one you see on stock OEM ABS fittings where all the holes are open and not covered by anything else..

I have used the image you provided for easy reference.

This is as far as my knowledge goes. Kindly correct me if I am technically wrong. . Also trail braking is done by front brake. Rear brake is used to fine tune the throttle on the way out of the corner as one would not want the load to abruptly transfer in the front(if front brake was used ) while accelerating.
