My question is if companies like this an come up with methods to boost FE and performance why cant the vehicle coming right out of the factory of a very big manufacturer having tons of money to do R&D give such features in the vehicle itself?Originally posted by psr View PostPulsar 200NS parts list

A question for which almost everyone is caught answerless. But I personally feel, whatever comes as stock from factory, has been tested and is reliable for long long time , much longer than how much the bike might last, and these products are lacking that, which ofcourse is a big factor, some get it working right, some have ill experinces with it, it's all a matter of gamble.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View PostMy question is if companies like this an come up with methods to boost FE and performance why cant the vehicle coming right out of the factory of a very big manufacturer having tons of money to do R&D give such features in the vehicle itself?

Good question ...there are two things to keep in mind when a engine is to be released into the market..Originally posted by mayank.travadi View PostMy question is if companies like this an come up with methods to boost FE and performance why cant the vehicle coming right out of the factory of a very big manufacturer having tons of money to do R&D give such features in the vehicle itself?
1. Cost
2. Reliability...
On both counts the device looses out...forget India, even in the country of it's manufacture it is not having good sale numbers...
If an addition to a engine costs 10 rupees additionally, on a global market imagine how much it will cost at ONE MILLION units ? The Japanese have the strangle hold in the Two wheeler market, mainly because of availability of a Reliable engine with Good performance at LOW PRICING.....Honda sells over 13,000,000 units of bike every year(last year figure)...No manufacturer in the world will ever be able to match the numbers game with them...specialised bikes of a higher value like Ducati,BMW,Aprillia etc., sell at a much higher price and their combined Volume of sales will not add up to Honda's....So the output cost is important in deciding the volume and profitability...Last edited by psr; 02-25-2013, 11:43 PM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Very well explained krish2778 and psr....
i understand the reliablity concept but for cost...if they add an additional 10 rupee component to the engine...and make 1 million bikes...they have to spend 10 million rupees more agreed...but they surely will charge around 15 rupees more per bike and reap profits...plus mass manufacturing brings the cost down too....but well we are mere consumers and they are more experienced than us and have better knowledge on how to spend money and on what....so what i am saying mostly is easier said than done...Pulsar 200NS parts list

Not going by the topic & it's context but you all should see one of the episode of Fifth Gear. In that episode, the presenters used every available options to see change in performance & fuel efficiency and the end result was that so called fuel savers were just bonkers"HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

Dear Xbhpians, I dont know if I should share an information on this thread but yes we have developed a fuel saving device that saves a minimum of 30% although
some of them have reported a 50-70% increase that has been tested on maruti 800 standard carburetor version and on santro (FI) if the moderator gives me the permission to post it here I will.
Dear Moderator , will you pls permit me ?

Well, I came across this product Nano Energizer : NanoEnergizer fuelsavers buy now in New Zealand. Nano energiser Ceramic Coating that restores engines to save fuel and increase power. Oil Additive Fuel Savers. and they are not actually fuel savers AFAIK from the comments of people who have used it. They claim to provide you with some 5-10% bump in FE, and they are added into oil. They are actually intended to be some [silicone?] coating to the innards of your Engine and I think it works some kinda lubricator.
This coating is said to last for some 15-20 K KMs and those who have used this say the engine has gone very smooth and the noise and sound is reduced. They have a version for motorcycles and I intend to try it in my ride. The only thing holding me back is the part about reduced engine sound, though I can part with the 'noise' part. My RTR 180 makes a cruel growl and scream and I do not want to part with that.

yeah someone in bangalore is selling the same thing. i did a search on Google i too would like to try it once. ofcourse it isn't a fuel saver but it might prolong the life of an engine. these things don't come under engine oil additives but as engine treatment. might help in keeping the engine cool as well.Originally posted by evyavan View PostWell, I came across this product Nano Energizer : NanoEnergizer fuelsavers buy now in New Zealand. Re: Fuel Savers ? Anyone tried them ? Do they work ?
Don't use it. Any change in viscosity of oil or fuel will damage the engine. Change in viscosity might result in less fuel consumption but its bad for engine.Originally posted by evyavan View PostI've ordered one sachet of Nano energizer for 300 INR. Will try it out with next oil change and will let you guys know if I spot any difference.

i.m.h.o. all these 'savers' are ways of pulling a fast one on victims... there is no such thing as free lunches & fuel savers... they just dont work. period. :-)◦ ● 4-wheels move the body... 2-wheels move the soul ● ◦

Re: Fuel Savers ? Anyone tried them ? Do they work ?
Yeah. But what I've ordered is not a fuel saver per se. It's somekind of a coating which we add into oil and that's it for some 20k kms. Anyways I'll first try with my friend's car and if it's good will apply in my bike.
