Alcohol is a no no since the inner iron parts tend to Rust and engine fail sooner than normal..It had been documented and now it is not used as widely as first proposed.
no no...not an audio buff...its something i recently learnt in engineering...

thanks for the tips...i'll see what works for me....

yes alcohol does damage engine part i have read that but i was browsing thru my user manual and honda allows using petrol with alcohol as long as the octane rating is the same or higher than recomended and if a problem accours contact ASC...

go the medical shop or chemist and ask for pure acetone. a 200 ml bottle should be around 40 bucks and yes for petrol it should it around 1ml per litre and diesel 1.5-2.5 ml .

i havent used it yet however a friend did on his old safari and claimed that he never got FE beyonf 10 however this time engine was ultra smooth and for FE of 11.5.

the whole point is using it in the right amount else more acetone will lead to drop in FE.
i first thought the nail paint remover at my home wud be fine but well then i went to the chemist and got a 100ml bottle for 28 bucks.. i'll use that...

i guess the perfect ratio would be found out only by trial error...as said by psr

Mixing acetone and petrol is not an issue. Add in acetone first and then fill up the petrol. Filling up would cause enough turbulence to mix everything thoroughly.

I did feel that the engine was smoother and all, but again I maintain, if you are doing this for fuel efficiency then better change your riding habits. And btw I checked for the effect of acetone over approx more than 800km continuously before reaching the conclusion that the increase in fuel efficiency I was observing was nothing else than my own confirmation bias. Whereas increase in FE by 6kmpl due to changed riding habits is plain hard fact (verified over more than 3000kms now btw).

no chemist in Hyderabad ( atleast the dozen shops I visited ) has acetone. only chemical shops that sell industry grade and lab grade chemicals have it but they are selling it in half litre bottles which I think is too much for my use on my KH.
any idea where I can find acetone in Hyderabad in lower quantities? haven't tried using acetone till now.

A few weeks before i was stopped by 2 North Indians, they had set up a small road side stall and showed me a small black thingy which has the shape of a eye drops bottle with wire on one side which they Introduced to me as "SPARKO" - Mileage booster or something like that, and while i was chatting with one of them the other person had already removed the cable to the spark plug and installed it. between the spark plug and the cable , quoted a price of ~200 rs.Fortunately i was already happy with the mileage i was getting and petrol was 7 rupees cheaper at the time,They told me that it helps to maintain firing and a lot of other thing which i don't understand(Mujhe nahi maluuu,Dhusmann)

Has anyone seen this thing before??I don't think it works anyway,IMO the best think for mileage is a G-power plug and sane riding...

once a guy tried to sell it me also years ago.same way he removed my spark plug cable and installed it to show live demo , i said to him - " u fool don't even know that pulsar has two spark plugs instead of one. how will it improve mileage by installing on just on plug " and he was like - what !!!!
to top it all it creates a lot of problem in rainy season as some ppl have reported that water enters that thing.

still you can purchase it and then break it to see, what is inside it. you wont find anything more than a resistor and/or capacitor.

                    great!
they now say that even they don't have any stock of it.
the only acetone available around is that half litre bottle of industrial grade.

                      BEST SOLUTION is FS

i am a regular user of Nulon engine treatment since 2002 and " YES " it does work , i will not claim super mileage gains .

i used it regularly in all the bikes i had owned in the past ,the engine stays smooth for about 3000 kms and the then gets back to being rough until next nulon fill .

i was recommended to switch to FS (Fully synthetic ) engine oil for best engine care and mileage returns. i will be testing FS oil in my 2003 Kari and 2005 Bajaj CT-100 this month and post results .

I have not seen much engine smoothness using any Semi synthetic engine oil.

Can any one advise the best FS engine oil and grade for 2003 Karizma and 2006 Bajaj CT-100 . i need to know the FS oil grade to use .( i.e 10W40 )

please suggest Oil make and Oil grade to go for both bikes .

Merci | Best regards | Hasan

Nulon is a gr8 additive/engine oil treatment, but instead of all these things the best option is to go for a fully synth oil like motul 300v...

nulon is better then motul 300v because i have used motul many times, but according to my experience nulon rocks
