An example is an Indian version of Eliminator- My Avenger, whose Engine suck big times. Everytime I rev it and only thing comes to my mind is "I Need More"
      that was a funny one!
Not being too patriotic but I would not underestimate the indigenous talent that we have.
And I would rather be happy riding a Desi Mayabusa 1350 then to ride an imported MULE!
Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

        Excellent thought Ken.

I own a Avenger 200 and was not content with the touring performance of the bike. But where to go? No options.

So I am staying with the home made cruiser, and waiting for a decent 600 CC and atleast 35 bhp machine. And please note that I am not a speed freak. I would love to cruise between 90 kmph to 130 kmph, but consistently and without fatigue. "Bus itna sa khwaab hai"

Well my words was not to aim at shooting the emotions..

BAL employs lotza mechies from IITs and managers from IIMs, I have heartly respect for 'em, I too hail from rank-2 university in India, but the question is something else and not patriotism or institutes..

All bajaj gave us is a Pulsar, a techonology which is way behind current generation, and is way immature (220 an example) ..

          Why are we underestimated?

Why multiple options ranging from 2.5 lakhs to 5 crores available only in cars?
          Why not bikes?

Give it to us and we'll show the potentiality to buy it.

My frustration creeps up when my avenger engine vibrations tickles the flesh out of my ass at high revs.

@speed pujari: See, I am not a Bajaj fan either. But the thing is, to a certain extent Bajaj is the reason why HH and TVS came out with good bikes like the Hunk, xtreme and RTR. Even though their competitors are better than them but I know that they are trying to make good bikes. I really dont like pulsars, but the fact still remains, pulsar has been one of the largest selling bikes in the 150cc segment along with others, so pulsar cannot be bad actually i guess I dont think people will buy a machine which wouldnt work!!!

It will definitely take time, but yes, I hope slowly all Indian manufacturers will get into making decently powerfull quarter litre motorcycles.

            Cheers

Immature!!! Current generation as compared to SBKs...obviously.

Current generation as compared to other Indian Bikes!!! hell No

Bajaj's R&D (Stars Ahead is far more better than anyone else)

^^^ I wont say Bajaj's r&d is better than others. Fact is, others are not doing significantly better as things stand today, simple as that!!!

Makers like Honda, Suzuki (I m leaving out Yamaha due to R15) are capable of developing trend setting bikes which would be on par with their international models, but they are not simply doing that. Its not that they can't, its that they choose not to so far!!!

@speedpujari: Oh I can connect with that! High revs and the vibration is a sore point. Still, we shouldn't stop believing should we. It took one Rajiv Bajaj to transform a scooter making company into one of the forerunners of the performance segment in the country... all we have to do now is wait for his son/daughter to create another revolution and implement the highest standards of quality and engineering!

I'd rather see Mr. Rajiv do it himself.

We're veering away from the topic though.

Guys, first of all the whole bike industry is shaken by the Yamaha launches.

Everyone is terrified because of Yamaha.

                    How do i know this?
                    Well i am not allowed to reveal all but i will say this;

bike makers are taking input from us bikers on every aspect of a proper INTERNATIONAL grade bike. In the end they are even asking us how much are we ready to pay for these upgrades.

And believe me, in two to three years we are staring at a proper Indian bike with international standard machinery with capacity upto 400-600 cc!!!

Now lets hope this post is not deleted! I cannot reveal any more things now.

No one had this even when big cars were introduced. It's called an open market.

With the kind of driving/riding sense we have here the chances and road accidents will increase even more. But a person wouldn't understand this untill and unless he experiences it.I know it because I lost everyone where there were two kids crossing a divider , overspeeding tanker and a drunk driver were involved. It just takes a fraction of seconds for things to happen. For you its just shit happens and its called life.
Shit does happen and it IS called life. Even I've lost people on the road, through cancer, and recently my brother's friend died on the road. It's life bro - whether you die today or tomorrow, through your mistakes or someone elses, it IS called life. And it sucks. Equally it kicks a lot of ass every now and then too!

If someone dies because of his/her own mistake , its ok but in most of the accidents even innocents die because of a jerk who thought speeding is fun.But why would you care , you just want a bigger and a faster bike ....
Aw, wouldn't you just love to cheapen my wishes? "He just wants a bigger and faster bike". Yes. I'm willing to accept full responsibility for MY actions. I'm neither an activist, nor the police. I'm just a consumer, and I'd love for more options. If people are gonna misuse them, then I will NOT pretend to accept responsibility for that. That their problem. It lies on their conscience.

Oh so you are the law here or you think you are above the law? just because everyone is speeding way above the limit you'll speed up too.If everyone is stuipd , you'll be stupid too! wow , and here we call people like you as the sane responsible bikers !
Whoever said I was sane? I'm quite happy with my inflicted insanity thank you! However, the whole "because people do it i have to do it too" - I repeat, ever been on the highway? If you want to be safe, on a bike, you HAVE to move a little faster than the rest of the traffic. Best of luck trying to get everyone else to drive slow because your vehicle can't keep up. Why so blind?

Are you the authority to certify what speed is safe for us on the motorways? Which part of the world are you from?
I'm not an authority you ass, those roads are DESIGNED for those speeds. Sheesh. 100-120 on a highway is the minimum one should have. It IS a highway for gods sake! Grow up!

UK , US , saudi all have 110-120 kmph limits on their motorways , do you know why? because they have poorer roads than what we have in India ... yeah right ....
Since when does 110-120 kmph become 80kmph? That 1.5x the speed limit in India. Daft are you?

Sorry for the personal attacks, but this is exactly the kind of close minded crap that's bogging the country down! Nothing personal against you, and no offence meant.

                      Peace out.

And I'm really sorry for your loss, can sort of understand where you're coming from, but life goes on bro!
