  • Change of silencer for a NEW royal enfield bullet 350 UCE

    Hi All,

I will get the delivery of my bullet 350 UCE in Sep-10 and I plan to change the silencer. After a lot of research and asking around, I have decided to go for a short bottle silencer.

The question is - should I get the silencer changed at the time of delivery itself, OR should I wait for the run-in period of around 6 months (or 5000 km)?

    Cheers!
    Anand

Let ur bike arrive - then u decide.

My idea for u : Go for RX exhaust if u can get it done.
You must be the change you wish to see in the world

Not the upswept, I am looking forward for short bottle one

            Hi All,

            Thanks for your advice!

Why not goldstar - I think primarily because I find goldstar sound too loud.

BTW I am not looking for changing to upswpt one (the one that comes for C500).

The question was - should I change the silncer immediately - i.e. at the time of delivery, OR should I wait for run-in period to be over....

            Best regards,
            Anand

yes wait for run in period and then go for mods happy thumping(after a couple of months) It's said the short bottle seriously affects top-end even though you get a decent low-end torque think and decide many may disagree this but the fact

If I do not want this to be affected, then which one would you suggest ? Goldstar?

BTW I came across this Sans Inc. Goldstar silencers. They are fitted with conical baffles. The sound is quite nice.
Any idea on performance of the bike with those?

Sans thing all i 've heard are positive responses only once you finish up your second service contact him you will get a more clear idea than what i may describe check his orkut page the responses are all after sales so you can trust him also good news is that he was researching on megaphones had he finished and made one then you may get a more bassier thump

Is it true ? I have ridden Bullet which has only Short Bottles so I don't know the comparison. More over I don't prefer riding her above 70 or 80

I have already checked their orkut page and am happy with the results.
I think for now, I will stick with the stock silencer and wait for run in to be over, and then replace it with either sans inc one or the short bottle one....

                        Thanks!

                          A little introspective into this matter of silencers;

                          1. Short-bottle - This's the original Bullet silencer. Off-course it initially used to come with an empty bend-tube (i.e minus the cat-con). But the cat-con has several more advantages ( improved low end torque due to back pressure, less pollution etc) than disadvantages (read lesser noise). Also, the dome could be without baffles (freeflow) or with baffles.

                          2. Goldstar - Origin not for Bulets but for BSA bikes. Good sound. Sound reduced to manageable with baffles. But, bsically free-flow. That's more engine heating, which means bigger carb jets or richer settings required ( things I would not like ).

Now its your choice. But wait for the run in.

If you want to get it changed then you discuss with the person doing PDI and get it changed right then and there.. i personally somewhat don't prefer goldstar ..
