As per latest update, the bike is in colombo now & scheduled to arr in cochin on 15 Sep. So the schedule gets pushed a lil further. Itching to go riding. The rains are still pouring in full swing in this part of the world.

Just one question; is it possible to collect the motorcycle at Kochi shipyard now or do they necessarily push it all way to your home? Reason for asking is, if you travel to Kochi AND if they're ready to hand over, then you can save 1 or 2 days right? Just a thought!!!

Yeah, I am forced to pick it up from Cochin port coz local trucking companies (ABT.. etc) dont agree to ship an 'imported bike' by road for whatever reason!!! However, I have some commercial issues related to the trip to take care of in Bangalore after bike arrives (will explain that later) and hence I have to ride to Blr and then start the trip from here. The positive side is that I get to ride another 1000kms two-way cochin. HOWEVER, I have just been advised that the bike is still in Colombo and is expected to arrive cochin on 18th, plus another 2-3 days for unloading/clearance etc. Anyway shall post the updates once it arrives.

Where are you right now Haroon? I'm leaving only after 10 days (24th). I can surely meet you if you're not off already.

aargee, the bike is sadly still in Colombo and expected to land in Cochin on 21 Sep. Now the trip days seem to be getting shorter. I will clear the bike and then bring it to bangalore and I am seriously thinking to postpone my peninsula ride for early December when I come back to Bangalore for my next break. Anyway I can keep the bike in India for 6 months so I have to make use of that. Will update once I get the bike cleared.

^^^Hmmm, Ok, better to make the ride relaxed than hurrying up. The weather would be awesome in Dec/Jan too.

Hey Ashwin- Fully agree that Wayanad is one among the most picturesque places in gods own country, but just that I am used to doing this stretch so many many times by car, besides, I wanted to do the whole length of kerala and didn't want to take a long deviation to wyanad and return back. Also I have never ever travelled beyond cochin down south so I preferred to skip Wayanad and spend more time on roads/places not travelled so far. BTW, the present road conditions on 6 of the hairpins in Wayanad are in very very bad shape.
