    @PRANAV Thank you man..
    @prince sure man....i'll do that..
    @ROCKRZ The stock jet size of Fazer is 112.5. My stupid mechanic has put 110 or 113 now...don't remember..
    @Coplay Hmm.. After trying out a few jet sizes and some tuning, if the bike doesn't seem to be getting any good, I have no other option other than to go back stock...But I feel going stock is easy...I wanna take this challenge and get my bike to the optimum level with the K&N...I'm not giving up before trying more..Thanks anyways

      get a 125/130 size jet for your bike. the problem should get solved.
      do remember to upjet the pilot jet also by a size of 10-15 higher than existing.

        Err no way ! My mechanic had tried a 125 jet just to convince me that it doesn't work...The bike was lagging at 35KMPH with 125 size Main jet. And moreover, its difficult to get Pilot jets and i don't think i wanna mess with the pilot jets..I'll try 118 or 120 Main jets.. If its not okay, STOCK ! No other way..Stock is much better-thats what main articles say....Now that I've spent 2.1k on this SHIT, LET me try as much as possible to make it work ! -_-

          please verify that the carb on your fazer is mikuni or keihin??
          remember most japanese manufacturers use keihin..
          this carb is very restrictive if k&n is used. so just get the carb changed..

          IF YOU ARE STILL WILLING TO TRY, get a pulser 200 carb, fit jets of 30 main and 130 pilot.. and enjoy...

          but this will set you back by about 3000 bucks but success is sure.. my hunk is running in this configuration..

            one more thing to remember, is your k&N fitted inside the airbox or is it fitted directly on the carburettor???

              @ ROCKRZ: I just read that blog. One of the best lines on biking I have ever come across!
              Why don't you put that on our xBhp forum as well?

                  @ROCKRZ Its a Mikuni carb and the K&N is fit directly into the carb.. Man, I read a lot of articles about K&N...seriously thinking of going back to stock...I conclude this:
                  Stock filter=Normal performance + Long engine life.
                  K&N= Same performance + Better sound + Shorter Engine life.
                  Thus i feel, its not worth it to spoil the engine just for the sound. . .

                    WHOPSIE!!!
                    IS YOUR BIKE HITCHING to go beyond BEYOND 7K RPM?? i mean

                    if yes then get a long intake installed on your bike. it is basically a long pipe between the k&n and the carb.. this prevents the carb needle from bouncing!!! what is happening with your bike is that the buffer volume of air is very short and the pressure pulses in the carb causes the needle to bounce giving you an indication that a smaller jet is better. but actually you are running very lean..

                    but remember that to get the full gains, you also need to get a tuned freeflow, ported intakes, higher compression.

                        guys...i hav a weird problem....
                        today morning after taking out my horse from the garage, i forgot to switch the fuel knob to "ON" position...i usually reset the trip meter everyday in order to calculate the distance travelled on a daily basis...i dint ride much today...at the end of the day when i was to garage it...found the trip meter read 25.7 kms...dats okay bt the problem is...when i went to switch the fuel knob to "OFF" position then only i realised dat i rode the whole day with the fuel knob in "OFF" position...how could the engine go on for 25odd kms without drawing in any fuel? Is the fuel knob malfunctioning...?? is fuel seeping into the engine in the "OFF" condition as well??

                            Hold on there, I don't think if kn reduces engine life then so many filters would sell, sooner or later someone would have called their bluff. I do admit kn filters allow bigger particles than stock filter...doesn't mean large chunks of rock are going to choke your engine. clear your kn filter the oil they've given you, do this once in a month or so and it'll be fine. This is what happened to me,

                            I got a kn filter fixed on my bike two months ago and that same day I went and got my main jet changed, infact there are no bigger mainjets available in the market for p220 so I had one custom made, I took a test run on a nearby road which was empty...the mechanic himself asked me to do this. he asked me to revv the bike hard and ride fast, while doing so if the bike jerks that means you got a main jet that's too big,then you have to try a smaller one, keep doing this till the bike revs freely at all rpms and you can feel the increase of power. fortunately for me the first jet that i tried on worked fine and with little changes to the air/fuel ratio I was good to go. kn filter rc1100 cost me rs.2000 and upjetting cost me rs.100. That little bit of extra power on the road = priceless
