  • Bike goes off after long idle exposure to sunlight (Heat)

    Hello experts,

Mine is Pulsar 150 DTSi UG2. I park my bike office parking area and I cover it to prevent paint fading. when I take my bike in the afternoon it goes off after 150 - 200 meters run as if there's no fuel. I have to pull the choke and kick 10-15 times to start it after that. Once it starts, there's no problem.
This problem doesn't shows when I start my bike in the morning ( My be because there's no sunlight heat during the night).

Also there's no problem if I park my bike in a shed during the day time.
please advice a remedy. Is it because of fuel vapourization from carb. due to sunlight heat?
    please help.

Must be an Air-Lock in the fuel tank probably due to excessive heat, which vanishes off when you open the tank once & start it. Rite?

Hmm.. I does what ever I could do then..like..pulling the choke, opening the tank etc. Any reason for that airlock? Its a new problem for me..never had to face it before

Do you have any tank cover that comes in the way of petrol tank lid? This happened once to my friends xtreme.

i'll tell you why it happens. you guys might have noticed a small hole once you open the fuel lid, its known as a drain hole for draining water during heavy rains to prevent water seepage to fuel tank. It also prevents air lock when exposed to sunlight so ensure that the drain hole including the pipe is all clean and then you wont experience that problem anymore

Thanks,, I'll check it this evening, BTW I am changing my coil to avenger's today. But unable to unscrew the pulse generator screws. So I went to a mechanic. He said it's better get help from a lathe workshop

                      Wonder why he said so..??!!!

First of all change your mechanic. A mechanic who cannot open screws should be ashamed of himself you dont need lathes to that just remove the coil and put and avenger's coil or you can rewind your coil with a higher gauge wire. It doent require any rocket science an experienced mechanic will leave no scope for you to complain.

i have also face this problem quite no. of time, and the simple way to start the bike is to open the lid/cap of tank for some time & let some gas to escape and then try again,
if then also it doesn't work-try to use kick few time
(for P200/P220-take the bike to some speed and start it using shifting up/down gear-it definitely works)

Once I open the fuel lid before starting, the bike doesnt go off. So pressure variation is the problem...!!!!. I tried it every day for the last 2 weeks.... But I idnt fint the hole for water seepage!!! Is it in the fuel cap?
