Can you please let me know which tyre did you change to before going for your Ladakh tour?
    Hi ,
last year had taken my fz-16 to Leh. Replaced stock tyre with Ceat Vertigo Sport. Size: 120/80 17. Its tubeless and direct fit. Tyre performed extremely well in the terrain without any punctures. Highly recommended.

I would like to add something.
I had done a mumbai to kolhapur trip once on a FZ.
I just had one problem, i used to develop pain in my wrists( due to the handle bar) and the seating position
you might get that changed before your trip, too something more comfortable.

My brother-in-law has clocked 42000+ km.s on his FZ(2010). He attends rallys. He has gone to Bhutan and Bangladesh on his FZ(from Kolkata). No problems apart from one puncture. In the rally, there were RE350/500s, Karizmas, Pulsur220S and many other higher capacity engines. So, you can rely on FZ.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
