I am still fixed on using the motorola talkabout walkie talkies since u get them in India for about 3K for a pair, which I thot was cheap. But do u get VOX headsets that can be used inside a full-faced helmet in India? Does it have to be imported? How much does that cost?

Alright, bumping another of my old thread on same day I need help from Puneites, about the electronic market here. Is there any place in any Peth where I can get a circuit made? After getting a sore throat because of my shouting communication with pillion on a recent long trip, I am determined to find the solution now. Requesting Puneites' inputs about this location.

Well, this circuit hardly has even 10 components. If you want I can draw it in form of components. That way you will just have to connect some wires from one component to another.

About making and selling them, I am not sure man. I guess any electrician or college project making shops can do it for you. Look around and see. Else, if you really want this I guess I can make a one off. Please look around first!

Its a simple amplifier circuit. You need 2 of these circuits to form a 2 way set. Its a wired Intercom only. I suggested this as it is very simple to make.

Guys, I'm not sure how good this could work.
you can buy two wireless headphones (the frontech ones costs around Rs 650.00ea on rediff, pic attached below).

Now the headsets have their own frequency mapped to that of its respective transmitter. If you interchange the transmitter (ie give the transmitter mapped to your headphone to the pillion) then whatever he/she communicates will be heard on ur headphone and vice versa.
This could be used for bike to bike communication as well as pilot to pillion communication.

Cons:-
- I havent tested them on a ride.. so i dont know the battery backup. also you will require 2 pairs of AAA batteries for each set of cordless headsets.
- not sure of their range.
- Also this might prove to be a bit bulky.
- well... you will have to go through the process of dismantling the headset and figure how to attach the speakers, the mic and the wireless receiver (built into the headset) onto your helmet.
- i had a set, the brandname which i cant recollect (picked it up from national market in bangalore. cost Rs600, 4 years ago). the sound clarity was too good and picked up all sounds. This!! i say is a con because you might end up catching the noise of the wind unless you have the mic insulated from the wind.

If you can figure how to get around the above cons then this could be a feasible option.
