  • my agony named CBR250R-ABS

I had posted about my CBR(barely a month old) vibrations in xbhp although not in this section but in Ownership Experiences a week back.
The vibration happens while decelerating and starts from left foot peg and transmits to the right one then to the tank and seat and believe me it is really annoying.
Bike has done only 1330 km and it started happening around 800km.The problem persisted even after 1st servicing(921km) and two subsequent visits to the dealer(fortune Honda, Hyderabad) for this specific problem.
They rode it but the ride lasted less than a minute and said ok sir its over.
I guess its coming from the sprocket and chain or does it have any other serious problems? I am clue less.
After a wait of almost 3 months and spending 1.92 lakhs,I thought it would give me joy and smiles But it has only given me agony & trauma. My worry on future performance of this bike stops me from ridding it fast although the engine sounds good and feels paunchy while accelerating.
Could anybody give me suggestions on reporting this problem to HMSI and the way to do it ? I believe Honda engineers can rectify this problem.

Chain issue I believe..get the chain inspected and properly tightened.

        dude --it's the shims--

am having the same problem but there are no shims available here so waiting for it

don't worry it's not a major problem & only an irritating feature

doesn't affect the performance per se

call up honda, write to them--blast them off & they will attend you pronto

I tend to agree with DK's opinion on shims; I've done about 6K clicks on ODO. Though the vibes have increased, I haven't experienced this kind of issue by God's grace. It must be the shims or the engine bed bolt.

Edit - To the thread starter; there's nothing to agonize!!! Just keep moving up from ASC to HMSI engineer. There IS a HMSI engineer associated with every dealership + who takes care of the entire state as well. Get an appointment with him & show your vehicle to him. You'll have to be good with ASC & build a rapport for that.

                  Check...
                  1. Front wheel alignment; tires; bent fork; cone set.
                  2. Finally the shim

RG Saar, where to get hold of the Honda Engineer associated with dealership ?
I did ask the SVC folks to help me with the HONDA engineer, they said aisa kuch nahi hai (there is no person as such).
My bike is perfectly fine(touchwood), but need some information on how to contact these guys or set up a meeting ?
                    Please let me know.

                    Cheers,
                    Sanjay

There will be a regional service head or whatever fancy term Honda uses for it. Getting their contact info could be tricky. Some dealerships have a board with such info (showroom manager, service head, honda customer care, service helpline number blah blah) displayed on it.
The easier way to do this (in case you have some issue that is not attended to properly at teh SVC) is to write to Honda on their customer care email or contact them via their web-form on their website. They do respond to complaints and if necessary would dispatch them 'service heads/engineers' to your asc to address your issue.
But don't bother asking them for specific phone numbers or contact info.. you'd have better luck getting a girls' number at the bar or bus-stop.

As aargee mentioned, building a rapport and being polite is the key to getting your issues sorted out.. Ironically it is we who pay for a product and also we who should do 'company service' and not expect great 'customer service'
