    Latest updates.
I went to an old mech of mine who used to take care of my old bike and is really good ( Vicky Bhai in Nerul) as the bike is now close to unrideable in traffic. The gears get stuck and its impossible to change gears at low speed, 20-30, and when standing still I can't even get from 2nd to 1st. I have to move the bike back or forth and then change!
This time the mech told me that the sprocket is completely dead and now the clutch plate too needs to be replaced it seems! I'm still wondering what could have caused this kind of wear in such a short period of time. The bike was delivered to me on the 22nd of June and has clocked around 11-12k Kms. Serviced on time, chain lubed at regular intervals.
Maybe its my riding style? I rip occasionally I've maxed the bike @ 147-148. But I normally ride @ 64kmph which comes at 4k rpm exactly. Most of my shifts are done between 4-6k rpm. I accelerate a little while shifting down. I use engine braking to slow the bike whenever possible.
I need to know the reason behind this kind of wear so atleast I can drop a proper mail to Bajaj and get some of this covered.

P.S - I'm taking the bike to a mechanic in chembur just incase :/
Brother, I would suggest you to go ahead and drop a complaint in the Bajaj web-site. In my earlier experience, they respond pretty quickly. Tell them these issues and ask about replacement-under-warranty. If you are doing the servicing only @ local Bajaj dealer, I would suggest you to try the Bajaj PBK service station for once.

Though the chain sprocket, gear lever and clutch - would wear out early, due to riding on bad roads, still 6 months is too less for it (anyway, let's speak in terms of KMs done in the Odo). For me, I replaced the clutch-plates and gear lever @50K kms and sprocket @54K kms. One thing is for sure, if you lubricate your chain by yourself at a freq interval (say once in two weeks while cleaning the bike) and change Engine oil @ regular interval (interval depends on which type of oil is used &/or at the hint of harshness in gear-shifts or rough noise while revving).

Motorsport is fun. Safety is a mandate. Be in shape & ride long

Mine lasts for 15k. Use motul chain clean and chain lube, if ur touring use sone grease after the chain spray, it gives extra lube and avoids dust to enter the o rings. For city i would sujjest clean ur chain with kerosine one in two weeks depending on ir daily average run, then use chain sparay. One thing wch most of yhe pulsars have is the chain adjuster is not set properly during service which results in improper functioning, friction increases nd it starts cutting the o ring.

If you are buying a new chain and sprocket set , make sure you get the ROLON OR DIAMOND brands . They are very nice and efficient chains.

Any parts stockist in your city will have it , just ask him for chain set for 220 and check the brand . Check the chain , it will bear the name and symbol of diamond on a link.
