This has nothing to do with loose drain-nut , do not over-tighten it like that . This seems like a float problem . Major possibilities that comes to my mind ..
      i) The float has a leak in it and is filling with petrol
ii) The float is getting stuck
iii) float level is improperly adjusted
iv) the float-valve pin (rubber tipped thingy) is gone bad .
      v) carburetor has been re-assembled incorrectly after a service causing it to malfunction in some other way .
Either of these conditions shall cause a overflow in the carburetor float-bowl and the excess fuel shall flow out of the drain pipe . Provision has been made for this safe escape of fuel , and you cannot stop it by tightening the drain-nut . By over-tightening it , typically with a larger screwdriver and force you may deform it's head or threads thereby causing an ever-leaking drain-tube in the float bowl . Carburetors parts are made with softer metals like brass and aluminum , be gentle with it .

There is also provision for safe drainage of the fuel from the carburetor , if it is accidentally tilted beyond a certain angle (i.e the bike has fallen sideways) , but that comes out of a different orifice .. not the drain-tube below the bowl .

Dismantle the carburetor and carefully inspect all parts for wear and deformation etc . Replace parts as necessary . Replace float, float-hinge-pin,float-valve-pin, float drain-nut and o-rings at the slightest suspicion .Clean all parts and reassemble carefully . IMHO .

Have a mechanic do this for you. It depends on every bike. While 2.25 to 2.75 turns are average on most bikes it may not work for you. The location where you reside also is a major factor.

Like I said earlier, it depends on the bike's condition. It need not be same for all bikes.

Re: Pulsar 220. Fuel from carb. Drain pipe

A fellow xBhpian recently changed his pilot jet to a shorter one i.e the jet is physically shorter than the stock jet i.e it protrudes less into the float chamber. But after reassembling the carb he's facing leaks from drain pipe while the motorcycle is in motion. Logically I dont find a reason for the leak to be a result of using a shorter pilot jet, but please do advice and correct me if wrong.

Re: Pulsar 220. Fuel from carb. Drain pipe

                      Hi All,
I am having the same problem of Fuel leaking from Carb drain. Checked with Bajaj Service center (prior lockdown - said float is stuck) & bike mechanic (a month back - cleaned carb and was good for few days), But still leaking now after bike idle for a week. Don't know what to do.
                      I'm in Silvassa.
What are the options to arrest leak of Fuel?

If float gets stuck again and again then your float pin might need to be taken to lathe work. My suzuki had the same problem and after lathe work on float pin its stopped leaking.
