  • Bike Jerking at 3k-4k rpm.

Hi all, Facing an issue with my 180 Apache Beast, as below

Bike Jerk at 3k-4k rpm in each cog, it almost gives you feeling like no petrol. a perfect exmple of jerking is when your main tank fuel get over & the time comes to switch from main to Reserve, its same jerk I feel while riding my beast from last 2 Week.

Another Example is like Bike is in Neutral & you upshift gear & While initial acceleration you feel a little bit Push/Jerk, exactly the same..

I am getting an average of around 50km/l.

Now here is the Real Concern went to SVC they told me something which i didnt understood (lol) "Bike will not jerk, there is some setting need to be done, but it will then give you average of around 30-35 afterwards"

Here is What i feel might be the Problem
    A/F mixture
    Air Filter
    Spark Plug or
    TPS or
Ignition Switch (Read in some threads, but doesnt seem to be problem).

If i am not wrong then there is some problem in supply of petrol to carb , it needs to be cleaned . Similar problem arised with my friends RTR180 2011 model , visited asc for 3/4 times , on each visit they perform different thing like air filter cleaning , carb cleaning , carb tunning but problem arise after riding 20 km . Finally he got changed carb & cdi after that the problem vanished .

First make sure its not due to any of these. After that, check the carb. I'm hearing an increasing number of RTRs getting this problem (besides mine). I've learned to live with it
If you have a friend with the same bike, swap the carb with his and check for a few days - that should give you an idea if its the carb. Else ask the SVC to replace the carb for you. (its going to be difficult, but try all sorts of things to make them do it )

its the carb slide that is busted... the solution is to replace the carb... a quick fix is of replacing the slide only but be ready for some headaches...

try at your own risk :-
If you are of the Juggadu types, get a groove machined on the slide and install 2 o ring on it such that it is just sliding smoothly :P
i have done this on mine and it is working just fine for the last 6 months

Does the Problem go away at higher RPM's ?
if yes, then i had the same problem with my bike

Just change the Spark Plug and the Spark Plug Cover,
                    that should solve it .

yes it only happens at 3-4k rpm.. else fine .. but how can be spark plug is troubling me ?

Its job is just to kick off nothing else right ?

is it just between 3-4k or from 1k-4K?

Might be a case of faulty TPS or clogged main jet.Replace the TPS first and then report back.

Drifty... It only happens at 3k -4k rpm ... you still think TPS is the issue ?
