    It will not damage the engine unless you do it on a daily basis and for a long period of time. I once tried to find the rev-limiter on my RTR 160 by revving to the fullest in 2nd gear.The beast touched 12000 RPM without effort, that is when i realised that it doent have a rev-limiter. It doesnt hurt it when you over rev it once or twice.
