Re: Bajaj Avenger Tail Bone Pain

Hi i am avenger user since 3 years. Two mods that u MUST do yo reduce your backpain. Its about also that boring shocks to that gives continuous bumps to back without proper shock action. So i suggest
1.Add 2-3 inches of 26-28 density sponge foam to seat. Good seat meakers do make it
    2. Replace stock shock with Thunderbird endurance gas shocks with some mods like " centre stand heighten and chain readjustment with you sitting on it "since sitting on gas shock will bring down the avenger and stretch chain a bit, emphasize the mechanic to do it..or else chain sprocket wears out faster. Also put gas shock at soft adjustment.

Trust me i have done this mod and never regretted a bit about tat and am enjoying ride of 100-150 kms at a stretch.

I have been lately doing some research on plonking in the new thunderbird's shock absorbers in my avenger. Good, I found you. What i want to ask u is how much does the ride height increase? I had aslo started a thread for the same http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me/...ification.html. ThE front fork mods are out of the window, but the rear mods are still under R&D.

Do you have any info about some good swingarm kits/fabricator to increase the wheelbase by say just 2-3 inches for the avenger. I feel the rear tire is a bit inside and if it is brought outwards by 2-3 inches, it will improve the stance and also straight line stability. Also, it will help to solve the rear tire skidding under heavy braking. I also want to run on a 140/70 r 17 rubber. Any info on the swingarm would be helpful.

Well around 2 inches height increase happens...dono much abt swingarm...but be sure u check with good probike mechanic to do so..as changing stock dimensions can affect badly also

I am also willing to replace the stock one with the endurance gas shock of RE Thunderbird. Can please provide some details like the overall expenses and the process of fitting it as I have heard that the endurance gas shocks are little bit longer than the stock one on the avenger and because of that it can not be fitted directly on the avenger. Also if you provide some pictures of the gas shocks that you have installed, it would be really helpful.
          Thanks in advance.

When i bought endurance thunderbird shock it costs 2300rs 3years back plus fitting around 500 for fitting shock and heighten center stand a bit. Only some change in thunderbird shock bolt hole has to be done which was easy.

                  Hi Guys

I am thinking of buying Avenger 150 or 220 for daily commute to office (30 kms). I am 6 feet tall and 95kg wt. Age 36 yrs..Is it good bike for tall people ? or will it induce tail bone pain ?

                  Regards

Re: Bajaj Avenger Tail Bone Pain

I Own Cruze.Im 6ft with 94 KG and Im 28. I Love this Machine. No Doubt. But My answer to your Question is NO if you commute 30+ KMS or 1+ Hrs continually. Because the Distance between Seat and Foot Peg is Good enough for 5.5" People only. Even 6 months back there is no option in Budget cruising segment. But now you got INTRUDER 150. It got lots of + like REAR DISK, SINGLE CHANNEL ABS, MONO SHOCK SUSPENSION in rear. I feel GIXER 150 CC Refined Engine is Good enough to all kinds of rides. Test ride it.

                    My Experience:

Initially I Compromised the COMFORT which everyone highlights in Avenger. Then I decided I cant live with this seat. After various articles and suggestions from this great forum and other blog referrences i find RAO SEAT Covers in Bangalore is the right choice. I live in ERODE (Tamilnadu). I went for a ride to Bangalore ( My Uncle's Home is there) then I went to Rao Seat covers in Shivagi Nagar (Thanks to Google Maps). They were great in this work. Right price. that time was Pooja holidays., However they asked me 1 day time. But took 1 and half days. 2300 Rs . Agreed for 2000 Rs. Worth every penny. The result is Outstanding. Bye bye tailbone pain Bye bye Neck pain.Still Im somewhat 80% Happy.after 6k Kms Still getting used to its posture. The Level of Confidence and Comfort Which I had in my Old Beauty HHH HERO HONDA HUNK is not possible in Avy. But yeah. Its Cruiser. that too a Budger Cruiser. So Adapting to it.
