my pulsar sept 2006....is being poor at high speed.....engine makes a lots of noise and smells bad too....i use to get her serviced regularly at three months gap.....my total running till now is around 16600 thousand(thats no big enough)....from last one years i cant move it above 105-6 kmph....best it had done was 119.5 apprx. wat is da problem wid her....do i need to get oil change(i use castrol power1) or do i get back to old bajaj service station engine oil (i.e. get it serviced at service station)......it pic up is OK till 90 kmps takes around 12 odd seconds (60 in around 4-5 secs)....do i have to get its speed opened (speed khulna) or there is any other problem...my machanic says she is all right (he havent tested it at high speeds)....one more thing around 9x1000 rpm its rpm indicator (niddle) vibrates between 7-8.5x1000)

Well I am not sure but your problem seems like an aging problem. How often did you ride your bike? Have you kept it under covers for a long time?

Bajaj service center guys won't be able to help you much. They are busy churning out bikes thrrough the service cycle. Don't go for any antics like speed kholna or whatever it is called. I believe it opening up the jet to get a leaner mixture. It will eat up your engine rapidly. Get a second opinion about your bike. Also, if you have Castrol Bike Zone in your city then check them out. They, most of the times, listen to the problem and give time to identify the cause and rectify it.
        Enna Rascalla. Mind it !!!

If you need speed you should go for a higher cc bike.
If its a burning smell then yes you need to change the oil. Also get your carburetor cleaned.
