    hey riders.....................m a nu XBHPian.............n it fels gr8!!!

i ned som hlp wid my caliber 115 ..................my Dad hd bought it in '03 n til date shes ben workin fyn apart frm d gear box issues dat bajajs' hav ...... bt nw m facin wid som mor ............. cud ne1 elp me here???

    1. There is some 'TAK-TAK' noise coming from the steering / handle while braking ( i.e. when the forks get compressed and de-compressed ).
I have got the fork-oil, fork-springs & the steering-cone replaced, but the problem still continues.
Also, the steering / handle is very unstable ( shakes badly ) over rough roads.
    2. The rear wheel feels very unbalanced. It feels like if I am riding on a punctured tyre.
    3. The drive chain makes a lot of noise while pick-up. It sounds as if it is hitting the chain cover. I checked for the slackness, but that is not the cause here. Can this happen because of sprocket play?
    4. Vehicle gives a jerk when I open the throttle as wel as when I close it. This has been happening for a long time, but now it has become really very intense. Could this be related to the chain issue?
    5. The Gearbox has always been rough makes a 'KHAT' noise when shifting. Also, the top speed in 1st gear is very low.

hey...........n ne1 cud suggest me a good bajaj service centre / a nice mechanic in or around thane city..........

    thanx a lot .......

First of all the title is caliber 115. Aryan, can u do the needful?

Second of all, issue is with ur fork cone set. Check it and get it replaced if needed. That should solve the issues with ur front-end. For the rear tire, check for wheel bend or irregular tire seating or irregular tire wear-out. As for the chain, I think ur chain sprocket is gone. As for ur gearbox, check ur clutch plates, pressure plates.

hey bro,plz mention ur bikes mileage in kms.Only after first hand test ride anybody can assume what is main problem but in my opinion may be there is problem in gear shifter cos some times If shifter worn out there is lot of difficulties in shifting gear especially in 2 and 3 gear.IF ur bikes gear shifting is very hard or false neutral thingy is very common then there is prob in gear selector or shifter. As u said in ur post ur bike is been bajaj center many times so clutch issues r not the prob here.plz elaborate difficulties while shifting gears.

                    c sbk.........

first of all ......... i dont get a good range in 1st gear....that is the bike goes upto only about 6-8 kph in 1st gear....so its very difficult to ride in city-traffic.........i have to keep shifting from 1st to 2nd and back ...again and again............also i can not pull the bike from lower sppeds in 2nd gear ........... coz then she gives bad knocks..........

secondly..........the bikes jerks when i open as well as close the throttle........so i try to shift and move with a little dippression of clutch.....but this makes the clutch clatter badly..........my mechinic says...this is due some play in the BELL....also this is why the chiain is making noise..........

my bike is an '03 model.........has done 25k odd km.........gives an avg. of 60 in city conditions.........

pls let me know if u need more info...........

thanks for your reply 'c sbk'

                        ok
i own a caliber croma with disk an older version of urs bike

u will req to shift between 1 st and 2 nd in slow moving traffic thats because of gear ratios... u will feel less notches in gear shift if u use only the toe shifter

oil the clutch cable or replace if req.. mainly oiling helps a lot
set the clutch to full and dont prefer to ride the bike in half clutch ... u will burn out the clutch

when bike knocks change gears dont press or engage clutch mid way

                        ride u r bike solo
most 100-111 cc bike ride comfortably in single seater mode the pillion is a drag

dude.....i guess i am very well versed with the shifting rules.........but dint know about oiling the clutch cable.............
i think the problem with my bike is somthing else......please read my earlier posts carefully...........
                          thanks for the tip though.......
