  • Anyone tried R15 tyres on Pulsar150 ??

    I have P150/UG3/ Alloy Wheels.
    Stock configuration:
    Front: 2.75 X 17 MRF Zapper F
    Rear: 100/90 X 17 MRF Zapper C
    Alloy wheels

My rear tyre has done 16k and i am fed up with last two punctures. I am thinking about fitting R15 rear tyre. 100/80 X 17 MRF Zapper-S Tubeless.

Anyone tried that on P150?? review please.. also whats the cost. I am not interested in upsizing as would lose the speed.

My front tyre is already changed to tubeless p200/220 one. running since 8 months. 90/90 X 17 MRF Zapper tubeless

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

I don't know how good the R15's tyres will be for your Pulsar, but I can give you a heads up on the R15's rear tyres' availability..
They are very difficult to find right now, & some owners, who have run out their stock (or older) tyres, are finding it very difficult to lay their hands on a new one..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

r15 rear tyres are really good(superb grip, corner stability), but they do come with their own set of flaws...
tried em on my pulsar, they are low profile, less in height then pulsar zappers so
            1) bike geometry will be effected(rear end will drop a bit),
            2)potholes will create problems,
3)^^be prepared for repeated unusual pressure drop,
4)as they are shorter in outer circumference so your top speed will also reduce a bit,on the brighter side, initial will get better ..
5)being good performers they dont look good on pulsar

My rear tyre has done 16k and i am fed up with last two punctures. I am thinking about fitting R15 rear tyre. 100/80 X 17 MRF Zapper-S Tubeless.
and ya, With tubeless tyres, punctures do happen....

Better to stick to Zapper C or Q if available...i just changed my front and rear after 36 k km to the same stock. They are very good For daily commuting...I felt them to be the best. They also look good. If you go for R15 tyres, it will look odd. You are never gonna corner like you do in R15. Hence that level of handling and Grip is not at all required for a pulsar. BTW you cannot stop punctures. It will happed no matter what tyre you run.

This comes from first P150 alloy version and R15 owner...

                    Great..
So.. how much the R15 rear tyre cost you?
                    Is there any difference in:
                    1. long rides.. highways..
                    2. Off Roading.. potholes..
                    3. Bike geometry.. as profile is different..

The R15 tyres are not lesser in height than the Pulsar 150's, they are both 17". Here are the dimensions:
                      R15 front: 80/90/17"
                      rear: 100/18/17"

                      Pulsar 150 front: 90/90/17"
                      rear: 100/90/17"
                      Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Hey pple, my driving RTR. The stock TVS tyres are really very bad..
I want to change the FRONT tyre... the tyres are bad to such an extent dat after applying disc brakes, they simple looses the grip.
                            M thinkin of R15's front 80/90 17''... My stock are 90/90 17''..
How are the R15's front....does a smaller profile affect the handling and grip..
                            PLS REPLY

^ I experienced the same problem (grip loosing) while I was testing both RTR's ...
If fact, just grippier tyres made my P180's braking a bit better than RTR's, atleast on first look.

Do try the R15 front tyre. It's good at grip, as apart from being Soft Compund, it also has more rubber contact patch ...
