All HID bulbs are longer than Halogens to my knowledge, this pic will enlighten u

    H3 HID and a Halo
    .

Here's another HID bulb Chart for afuture ref

Issue arises, when the bulb's glowing part is not located correctly on the focal point I think. BUt u will not have any glare issues unless u remove the shield. Beam pattern will not be a satisfactory one. Try it and get back to us.

OMG !!! H3 HID's are so long !!! I don't think it will fit into Autopal or any small spot lights.
      What is your opinion ?

Me too. If really want to know the size, will try to get the length also But after reading the below article, u may back off from this H3 HID mod.

        H3 HID

A standard H3 bulb is 55W and is typically found in less critical applications like aux. lighting. H3 bulbs has been found in some low quality Asian aftermarked headlights. H3 has a lateral mount filament, and HID is only fore and aft, so a result of retrofit is that you will end up with garbage.

U said u r going for a Halo as High, so why do u need an H3 HID? Things r becoming complex, go 4 an H7 like in P220. a small one, but hard to find a sealed beam.

Guys day before yesterday i had been to a helmet shop to get a new visor where i saw an H3 bulb on display. it was a 12v 35w bulb, on its case all the imprints were in chinese or rather japnese language which makes it an obvious china make. it was for 175 per pair.

So, can i fit these in my uni and get a proper outcome ????????
          tell me guys, im curious.

          Thanx.

Bro, H3 comes with Skoda's Projector too, as per your words Skoda's headlights are low quality Asian aftermarked headlights .
I want H3 HID for Skoda's Projector for Low Beam.

Now what the hell is this confusion

If the same continues, i will buy a Bi-Xenon and put for stock reflector which will blind the upcoming truckies.

Buying P220's headlight unit is again a expensive deal

            THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL.!!

No ways, you can't put them in your headlight. You can just put H3 as aux light.

It was not my opinion what I've quoted, its from the link I pasted for u. Dont get offended, there r reputed brands too depending on H3 like Skoda,Dodge etc. Happy?

Yes there seems some confusion me too, but why dont u ask some accessory shops whether any Skoda guy'd gone for H3 HID and ask about the spread details. Its better to contact the buyer to get an actual feed back, dealer will not have any doubts about the spread anyway considering about the sales Its u to take decision, I too have gone for an HID conversion, H4 Bixen but the beam spread is not impressive as its not giving a long distance vision compared to Halos. And the glares are really scary, atleast in that case u dont've to worry as its all in projectors. Am very sure that none of the HIDians will be happy with the beams or the glare cut off from the stock beams either.

I just want to point u dont waste ur hard earned money just for a trial which is not sure about. Better ask any owners like what I said earlier.

Who is saying you have to be limited to 60/55W. Go for 130/100W h/l. Same o/p as HID!

I have still not made up my mind for rewinding. Not willing to do.
Got a CBZ Classic RR unit from my fren. Will try that in place if Custom RR so that I can retain AC power too.

Abhi, Do u think he will run a 130/100 on a stock coil+ 9AH batt? Even if gone for a rewounded coil, it wont support a 130W,as mine was almost the same after rewinding, 2X55 spot will take a slight delay to its full brightness. One fellow told me, Unis stator coil is almost full, very little space is left for rewinding, not sure for me though.

If its supporting a mighty 130W, u r at a high risk of burning the reflectors/coatings. I assume that lens refletor is alumn. And how can u compare with an HID to Halogen? Its almost like day and night diff there.

I donno all those stuff but Uni's reflector is a charm .
1 of my fren is using a 90/100w after rewinding the coil and the reflector is still intact. Its more than a year he is using. AFAIK ZMA and Uni's reflector can withstand the heat of 90/100w easily.

Uni's reflector didn't let the soldering gun to pierce thru easily. I had to heat a iron rod and make holes while putting projector

Shree, all ur power requirements are met from ur batt I think, so how come it will glow on a 9AH?. I've tried this before and disappointed to see that batt is not glowing fully, whereas the AC is giving its full power!!

IF u r confident about the reflector, then go ahead and try ur luck. Bike reflectors are not designed to withstand high watt bulbs heat like in cars, as the material and the reflector coatings are different and the cost too.

Do the coil rewinding first and post the progress ya.
