Better rewind the coil to get 12V!
+1 , I never heard an HID on 6V till date. As I told earlier, better rewind to 12V and it wont cost u more than 2.K including RR, not sure about the ign contacts and wiring harness will that make a diff in 6 & 12 V

U can use the new 12V with an ONB AC+DC setup and blind all, thumper doesnt requiers a horn actually, it makes it presense by thumps ya

R u r so addicted to HID? Once u use it on the stock beams, its not that promising man

Then dont go for the HID to the stock beams, as its only for show off unless u have the projectors. Stock beams with HID wont give u a nice beam spread not even like a Halo. Thing is, this high intensity light can not be tackled by the normal reflectors and thats what am suffering. The only benefit is, u'll get noticed by everyone by this HID

I was thinking to put HID for my Unicorn also on Stock for HIGH beam and use HID with Projector for low beam.

Where do u have the space to accomodate both in stock beam?

Will the AMBY's reflector fit on Bullet STD ??

What are the things I will have to change??

Bullet Experts, help wanted for conversion to 12v system.

I ride a 1980 STD Bull which has 6v electricals.
I consulted my mech and he quoted 7000rs for converting to 12v

Is it really that expensive ??
What are the things I will have to change for conversion ??
What is the cost involved ??

                Need detailed explanation please.

I atleast know that the reflector will fit! The cost seems too high to me.

Are you sure those are the prices for BULLET ???

I already have a 7ah battery so shelling out 2500rs for conversion is not a problem at all

                      But are you sure
And will have to find some other mechanic who can do the job

Dude, better get the parts yourself from any good shop. They will also know what parts to change. then go to any good mech. Give them max 300-400 bucks for fitting.

I checked out in RUBY Electricals, Bangalore.

He said he can do the job for me. BUT..

He said I can't put 55/60 or 90/100w bcz Bullet is a low revving bike and the power wont be generated to power up 90/100w bulb.

                            Price he quoted -

                            Rewind + magnet recharge - 650rs
                            Labor - 400rs

Ignition coil , Bulbs, RR Unit and other necessary things I will have to get him.

He says on AC I can run 55/60w but on all DC its no way possible.

Dont go for the magnet recharge, buy a new one, my mech suggests its the best as u dont've to worry anytime in future.

55W/60 ONB is almost near to the 90/100 of other brands and less heat, will be enough for u. Be content with what u have thats my advice to u in this.

Stick to AC its good for ur batt man. THing is u wont get satisfied even with a 1000W halo

ONB is same as normal 75/75. 100/90 is another step ahead!
