              Dual headlamps

              Hi all,

I've been following this thread with interest. Luckily for me, my FZ has a full DC system and supports a 55/60 W bulb without a problem. Planning on changing the bulb to a Philips Xtreme power soon.

Regarding the query on dual headlamps from the DCM Toyota, I used such a headlamp once on my old Kinetic Honda. It was an Autopal brand 146 mm/5,3/4" unit. It's available with the P45 and the P43 bulb holder base, so look around in different shops. Also, if you want the dual headlamp configuration, make sure you buy one standard asymmetric pattern unit and one long range (narrow spread) unit (non-asymmetric lens).

The housing I had used then was an RX100 headlamp casing. It's not a perfect fit but it does fit securely. One problem is the bulge inside the casing to accomodate the speedo cable in the RX. This bulge prevents the fitment of a 3 pin bulb connector. The bulge can simply be cut away.

I remember that the Contessa came with similar headlamps but the long range lamp used a H1 bulb, if I'm not mistaken, since it has just one filament and the lamp is meant to be used with the high beam.

Note: The headlamp from the Amby, that fits in the Samurai headlamp casing, is 178 mm in diameter. This too is available with both P43 and P45 bases, though P45 is more common.

                Tail light is 10W
Brake light inside tail light is 21W!

                Pilot is 5W x2
                Console is 3W x3

                Total is 10W + 10W + 9W is almost 30W just like that! Want another h/l instead?!

Just a thought. How much does a reflector which can take about 55W load cost? Few days back i dreamt of putting 2 of those on either side of my crash guards, using HID's in them, running directly from the battery via a switch & using them as cornering lights. Also upgraded the battery to 14Ah one. All this with twin beam HID aswell!

Where the hell will you accommodate 14aH battery . That really needs some enormous space . You can get H3 reflectors which can be easily mounted on crash guard inside which u can put HID's. These reflectors will cost around 700rs for a pair decent one's from Neolite. Hella's are of course expensive. Bro, you are running on a FI bike, so make sure you don't drain out the battery completely. Once dried, even push start might be problem.

Add an extra switch connect both indicators by that switch. Now turn on indicator and that switch. All 4 indicators will glow

Honda guys, try not to make this mod bcz each indicator bulb is 21w so 4 X 21 is whopping 84W !!!

Dude, do u know the meaning of this indicator mod? Its hazzard indicator which is meant for vehicles parked on roadsides on repair or u got something to tow or like that. Its very strict that not to use these lights on anyother case, but there r people using it for crossing signals to notice others they r going striaght Being a responsible XBHP member rider, we should not act like morons.

Its not meant for road show or anyother visibile DRLs (Day running lights)
