^Unfortunately, the newer bikes are not even capable for 5100 i think, fellow member abhi's bike p180ug4 started leaking 5100 for no reason. On the other hand my bike p180 ug3 has been successfully running on 5100 without any problems.Asked many about this head leaking problem with 300V ,some didnt find it and some are not so lucky. This question is yet to get a detailed explanation as to how the oil leaks, some say its because of double ester used in 300v,but there are no proofs.
If you dont worry about the cost,as you said, then go for 300V and see whether it leaks or not.
@Abhilashabhi--i want to ask u the same question, have you faced any problem?-------------------------------

As I earlier said Pulsars engine are not meant for Synthetic oils,Its way of throwing money.
Pulsar consumes oil when riding at 90-100 km/h
engine leaks
I am using Motul 3000+ 15W50 in my 150 and this oil is awesome, till date used it for 1200kms in 2 days no gear slips and kind of problem
better is to use Motul Semi Synthetic has good Semi Synthetic oilsRide Safe & Ride Long-->

Is that something that you have experienced or heard about?Originally posted by hyper View PostUsing Motul 300V in Pulsars used to damage the head gasket and cause oil leaks right? Has this problem been rectified in the newer bikes?
There are scores of Pulsars in the Pune gang that run both 5100 and 300V..no one has has ever experienced any such issues.Originally posted by ceasar View Post^Unfortunately, the newer bikes are not even capable for 5100 i think, fellow member abhi's bike p180ug4 started leaking 5100 for no reason.

Oil is consumed by the engine only if your rings or piston is way out of its tolerance limits. If the rings and the piston has taken a hit, your engine will consume oil irrespective of whether it is synthetic, semi-synthetic or mineral.Originally posted by zayn View PostAs I earlier said Pulsars engine are not meant for Synthetic oils,Its way of throwing money.

The issues with oil consumption were mostly due to leakages near the head and the pipes leading to the oil cooler (near the crankcase).
As I said earlier, there are many Pulsarians that use semi synthetic and synthetic oils here in Pune. None of us have had any issues so far.Last edited by niranjanvaidya; 02-06-2010, 01:06 PM.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

i've used motul 300v on my p150 UG2 model without any problem.
not a single drop of oil leak for entire 5 months and 7k kms.
In that 7k kms, 80% is highway riding . sometimes riding at 90-100 for continous 150kms.
My mech used to say, UG3 pulsars are not that good and drinks oil. not sure as i dont own one.
Now, i'm using 5100T semi-synthetic on my P220 without any leak again.
i think i'm lucky

I donot want to scare you. but, I own a P180 UG4 clocked 6500kms and it has leaked heavily with Motul 5100 semi synth.. May be fault lies in my bike, Give it a try is what you can do. Apply trial and error method.

i think it depends on your riding style...if you rip your bike...engine oil level will go down very fast...and you need to top up more frequentlyOriginally posted by abhilashabhi12 View PostNo not all the bikes have this problem.. I have run 6.5k kms in Motul 300V FL & my oil level did not go down..sigpicOnly a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.
