see buddy k&n is not the sound producer ....
            the carb is..
when u remove the filter box...jst check the sound
            sound may differ
if th k&n is placed inside the filter box so low sound..if itz in the filter box and it is cutted .. so due to echo more sound
and if its directly placed to the carb and removin the filter box the sound will be same as the open carb...try it......

mate in this i cant agree with you

see the sound produced by a filter fitted in a carb depends on its

                  dimensions

its size or diameter (surface area)

its shape(conical, cylindrical, flat, ovel dual flange etc....)

there are many filter's available in market, even K&N have many type of

                  filters for same CC engine's

an rc1060 which is smaller in dimension and conical in nature will produce different sound and an RU0200 with cylindrical shape with increased surface area produce different sound

these things i had tested in my bike, ma first filter was rc1060 and later i bought ru0200

with rc1060 there is little change in sound even if you fit it direct to carb compare to RU0200 which has got some very loud ror.....

                    hmm...
ru200 aint a conical so may be...then to the sound will be not that different mate....removing filter box and k&n and openin the carb and the sound of k&n fitted directly to the carb is the same sound....

hey mate no its not the same, there is a great difference in the sound that produced by an open carb and a k&n fitted carb

in a K&N RU0200 fitted karizma, ror is much much louder than an open carb

an open carb has got that ror only in some lower RPM and once the rpm is high especially above 7K its almost same like a stock bike but 0200 has got that ror in all the lower mid and higher rpm's levels

even the 1060 has got some ror but compare to 0200 i can say its nothing.........

Hey you guys doing upjetting after installing those after market filters?

Wanted to install after market filter but decided against it as I heard upjetting is a must and is quiet complicated with lots of trials and errors.
