        dude,.. k&n is good..

but however be prepared to get a hell of problems if u do not get the jetting right... cos i got an k&n installed on my bike ( r1100) and i did not upjet.... the result is a damaged valve, damaged valve guide, blown engine seals and a bill of 2500 for repairing this... plus i am not getting a milage of 40 ( actually that does not matter but still)..

also now that i have got the carb upjetted ( redrilled the jets to 135 size) , the tuning is all messed up and the bike running like a total shit and highly unreliable..

The engine stopped working thrice and that too was just sudden... i mean the engine was working fine... i stopped it for a refuel and then it refused to restart...

        check this link.....

i am still unable to get the problem rectified.. am now gonna switch to the stock filter and all...

my advice is first compare ur bike and an k&n fitted bike.. and if u are satisfied, only then go for it... if u have even the slightest of problems with the modded bike, STOP WITH UR MODDS ..

I know that the performance gains and the excitement of the new filter will be too great to overcome but the problems will pinch u hard later when the enthusiasm of the new filter wanes out.......

I was at the recieving end of such a stupidity so i am suggesting you.. else u will end up frustrated and deserted by ur bike in the middle of somewhere...

        the take is urs....
whatver u go for, think twice cos the hh ppl are not idiots....

thanks for your reply ROCKRZ really appreciated it, well yes i am aware that,
upjetting is required after installing a K&N filter, because it sends in more air,
into the engine and the stock jet sends in the same amount of fuel, so to match
the high inflow of air i need to upgrade the jet of my carb.

i got my bike a few days back and i have already increased the jet size to 135, and still have the stock filter installed, i have also done some performance mods in the engine of my bike, and increased the rpm so to get better acceleration.
As i have already upjetted my carb then as far as i knw K&N filter will work fine.

i have overhauled the engine of my bike, got new valves, rebored my engine size,
surfaced the head, changed all the worn out parts as u can say, and now my bike is in mint condition.

so am looking forward to install a K&N filter and still a bit puzzled about which one to buy i mean RC1100 or RU0200?????

hey i have just got a simota airfilter installed into my 220 fi ... the roars brilliant and has also increased the top speed by 3-4kms/h.I had to make a slight alteration to fit the filter where i had to cut the filter box to install the filter got it done from krp here in delhi. Going for a trip tomm so would be testing it on the 2 day trip so if u can wait for the verdict it might be helpful.
