  • Handle bar change for Pulsar 150

    Hi All,

I am around 6 foot tall and ride a Pulsar 150 2008 model. The riding posture in Pulsar is not relaxed and I get really tired after each days driving of around 30km's. I started getting shoulder and back aches. I am currently using my car for commuting and this is not sustainable.I am spending a lot for petrol. So I decided to change the handle bar on my Pulsar 150 with a one which gives comfortable riding posture. I am currently considering Karizma's handle bar. What do you guys suggest? Will this be a better option?

    -Ashwhin.

Pulsar 150 doesnot offer sporty riding position, i dont know why u are getting problems with it!
ok i know it depends on person to person

as far as i know anytime u can install ZMA handle bar with no problem!
        just takes little time.

The Unicorn handle bar is high and will fit in your bike. I fitted the Pulsar handlebar in my unicorn with no problems. So i guess the Unicorn handle can fit in Pulsar 150 to give you a relaxed riding position.

I doubt whether the unicorn handle bar will fit in due to pulsar's short length cables. Other option suggested by few could be old pulsar handle bars.

I am looking for a reply from a person who has really tried changing the handle bar of pulsar.

                Hi Ashwin AR here.

I dont know about changing handle bars.
But do give this a look
The Shoulder and back pain is because, your height and the riding posture of your p150 doesnt tally. Dont just stick on to changing handle bars, do try a new seat design too. These two contribute a lot to the posture.
Try the new ratio for some time, decide only after that. Otherwise you will land in more trouble. I guess if you try a ride on Avenger, you might land upon a ratio that can suit your comfort. <The ratio between the height of seating and the handle bar>
Choose a drive until you find a new ride. or you will loose both.

Do take care of your back.
Presence of MIND and self CONFIDENCE is the primary aspect You need to be on road, not what brand your riding gears are.
If you lack these two then DONT

                  help is here.

                  hi there.
i will tell you a solution for your problem.as a doctor and as a biker with same hight as you i also suffered that prob sometimes in the early days but not these days.the key is to sit straight almost a 90 degree angle between your spine and hip with relaxed arms.

now as of your pulsar is a 2008 model it came with sporty handle bars same as 180.you have to change to taller handlebars from either pulsar classic 150 or pulsar ug1 dtsi 150.there is a higher chance that you may have to change the cables (clutch and accelerator) because short cables will cause up and dip of revs.(THIS IS A STRIGHT FIT)./

DONT CHANGE TO HH ZMA OR UNICORNS HANDLE.they can be fitted but there will be probs with groove misalignment for bolts/not fit ment or illfitment of accelerator handle and barend weights.

also do some back strengthening exercises with caution, this will support your back muscles.

                    Guys,
Thanks for the repiles. Finally I got my Pulsar fitted with Discover Handle Bars which is pretty high & now gives me a relaxed & straight seating position.

Do give some links which provides me the various back strengthening exercises.

It was 95% straight fit,Handle bar of discover & clutch cable of avenger was fitted.

The headlight switches are little loose, but a piece of thick paper should make it tight.

                          Pulsar Handle Bar Change

Hi All, These days all pulsar models are coming with Clip-On Handle bars. Is it possible to change the handle bar to traditional type which were found in old Pulsars till UG-3 & also found in discovers. This will give a straight & relaxed driving posture. -Ashwhin.

since your problems APPEARS to be solved, please revert back if you still have pain in back and shoulders.

more often, this happens beacuase of suspension problems, when suspension goes kaput it causes back pain. suspension is generally the most neglected part, when it comes to maintenance, because often-it does not effect the running of your bike. but your body is equally important.

i still suspect that suspension is the problem here..

                              few pointers--
                              • when REAR SUSPENSION does not work properly, it causes LOWER BACK PAIN
                              • when FRONT SUSPENSION does not work properly, it causes UPPER BACK AND SHOULDER problems.
