  • @Vicky: The last shot is lovely, although a little more DoF would have been nice.. But nevertheless, lovely shot!

Thanks mate. I had sufficient light and could have easily shot at f/5.6 for more DoF... but i quite liked the effect i was getting here... so I went with 2.8

Thanks SP! this is exactly what i felt about it.... a true macro lens would have rendered a sharper image though

              I'm sorry

Not many posts from you here apart from the last two leaves shots.. To be really honest, I didn't really find these last two very interesting.. and when online, I shower instant praise when i come across something I like, but i prefer to keep quiet when i see something i don't like...

I found this to be just a random shot... no real composition or point of special interest... also, very cluttered & underexposed background

this one's similar... same problems as above...

this one is a very nice pic... i like it! could have been even better if the camera was straight, and the whole bike in view!

Please do! Would love to check it out

                  Do you use manual focus?

                      • @vijaycool: ofcourse when there is a "thunder storm" you can expect lightning.forks have specific interval in between.the interval may vary from 10mins down to 2mins down to 50secs depending upon the strength of the storm.

and lightning requires judgement..and huge luck..i wasted around 75shots before i got this and the other which i will post subsequently.i kept the shutter speed at 25secs...to capture if it happens in between.canon people here have more luck..the CHDK allows motion photography.so whenever lightning happens canon people can capture it...the aperture was at 5.6 since its the sweet spot of our lens..but F8 is recommended.our F8 has diffraction..so didnt keep that.shot with the help of tripod.
and shot from the terrace which is actually dangerous.. according to many storm chasers lightning shots should be captured in open fields..in terrace if u hop on metal...BOOM>...next thing you know you are fried.

for that fly shot i didnt use manual focus..infact that shot is handheld.250 used.no flash.AF on multi.

@aryan:some more will be coming up.

                        • @vicky- Thanks a lot for comments dude.. Something which I was really in a need of.. The leaf photo is slight underexposed bcoz of the polarizer, seems I need to remove it next time for indoor shots. I wanted some more saturation actually...

@anvancy- thanks for the comments dude.. In the fly photo have u increased the saturation in PP? or its straight from camera?

Here are two more from my side-

                            • @ anvancy : great macro! Love the lightning shot too!

@ SP : Liking the 1st one. Looks like the bike was on side stand and you tilted the cam to keep the bike straight in the photo, but doing this, the background (trees) got tilted... and are bothering me.. would have been better had you put the bike on center stand... and, avoid cropping out the handlebar and tyre next time

@ khushant : nice shot....a little brightening up of the dark foilage in PP would add to this image

                              • Woke up today and was pleasantly surprised to see that the Red-Tail Hawks were back!! Must have been 100+ spread around the buildings and trees!!

This one was perched pretty close...on the terrace of the nearby building... less than 20' from my window...
