And what is a 'High Key Portrait' exactly? I have no idea; just a mere mortal you see..

its basically using spot metering on ur subject and brightening things up..better if u google it.

Yes, searched it on Google, got to know a little about it. But, has it got more to do purely with post-processing or at the time you shoot it? Probably, over-exposing the image and spot-metering the subject, or something of that sort??
          :)

correct.its basically overexposing the background and that brightens up the subject.

i just checked my settings for this photo and got to know that it was actually hard light setting.so this is sort of processing.but u can use high key portrait in many situations.

Great! Thanks for that explanation anvancy. It is out of my purview, I better try out some macros instead..

*Floored* I see that the JV was well worth the effort. I like the pp that is happening here.

I have certain things to say which I will communicate to you soon.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

after so many days of no clouds they returned with a bang..it was odd to see a storm in november.missed the lightning opportunity since there were papers but didnt miss this.
the sky was literally in flames i would say.

                      3 RAW +-2EV F5.6..pardon the noise.

@vicky : i like the color one more than the black and white one..to me in the bw shot his face is oddly smoothy..

@anvancy: To be honest I could not get what you were trying to do there. As Vicky said the photos are too overprocessed. I can understand if you are trying to develop a style unique to you.

All pics shot from my Nikon PointnShoot, except one which you can easily make out.

                            from my balcony... tiranga effect!

                            panoramic view from my balcony..

night shot from my balcony.. from a Canon DSLR!

                            Lonavala..

                            Banglore..
