Mhh ! Thanks for the reply . Well ISO was kept to 100 , Shutter and aperture i don't really remember as i was experimenting simply at night and did not seriously note the same . Focal length was around F 4 ~ 4.5 i guess . I took thee in Aperture priority mode . I am still learning the settings of the camera . Would take some time for me to adjust with it .

    Exif : 2.21 Standard , Supports Raw / Jpeg

Can you suggest any ideal settings for taking such pictures .Would be of great help .

      not quite.

you use the AF select feature.split image in 4 parts.take 4 images using the AF select feature selecting focus areas..and then merging them together to form a complete sharp 5th image.

                  • To all the gurus out here!

I am very impressed by the photos out here especially anvancy and vicky's . I would love to learn and try to do what you guys do. I am strict amateur in the sense i have taken pics only with ordinary point and shoot cams. I have a traditional SLR at home which i do not know to use at all. But then i do not want to learn with that camera cos my experiments with film would be definitely expensive...but I want to make use of it once I have learnt better photography.

I want to buy a Good entry level D-SLR and I was impressed with Canon EOS 1000D whic sports an achievable price tag. I couldnt understand anything else which was written in dpreview.com.

My question to you guys is, is this camera a good learners tool? Can i learn the aspects of photography with this? I do plan to join (if available) a photography class which will help me with practicals....Is there any other good camera at this price or lesser? Price is a very important factor.

The price mentioned in the Canon site is 33k. I bvelieve grey market would be cheaper. Is it advisable to buy such cameras from the grey market? Please pour in your suggestions.

Mods: apologiies if i am in the wrong thread!

its post processed.if i do by raynox then natural vignetting occurs.

                        • Answer this

                          Ok guys,
After so many years with a point and shoot i finally decided to go in for a Dslr. Now the easy part is deciding to buy one. The tough part begins when u want to decide which one to buy. After doing quite a bit of market research I have shortlisted the following cams:-
                          1.Nikon D60
                          2. Canon Rebel 1000D or 450D

                          Now the D60 and 1000D come with a 18-55 lens.Not sure abt the 450D

MY expectation from the camera would be:
                          1. Good macros
                          2. Good zoom capabilities
                          3. Panoramic shots
                          4. Sports photography ( mostly motorsports)
                          5. Nature.

Now which of the above would fit the above criteria and is it better to get the cam with the 18-55 standard lens or should i buy the body seperately and get a better lens that would perform all the above 5. Need help quick coz i need to buy it within a week.
                          Thanks

                          • @anirudh: The 450D comes with an 18-55 IS lens. And as far as your criteria goes, there is a separate lens for each of the use that you mention. There are macro lenses, telephoto lenses, wide angle lenses and the likes.

If you want to do that all with one camera, then you better look out for a digital camera!
                            :)
