    Thanks for the reply. I am going to see my local cobbler and check if he has a special adhesive to bond rubber with other material (common scenario while repairing sport shoes i guess). If that does not work - then as Adarsh has suggested - I will go for araldite.

    SPG stuff is really good quality. But they never seem to have anything in stock. Been looking to pick up a Phaeton orange pair for over a month now. No stocks.

    Re: SPARTAN GLOVES: Review and Experiences

    I own a pair of Centaur gloves and in a recent ride had to wear them in extremely heavy and continuous rains for some 40 odd kms.

    After the ride wile removing them I pulled on the velcro strap and the rubber strap which is glued to the velcro came clean off.

    I had never noticed before that the rubber is not stitched to the velcro. For a >Rs.3000/- pair of gloves the least they could have done is use a water proof glue to ensure that the rubber and velcro strap stay stuck and do not come off. Especially considering that that part of the glove sees constant use.

    Any way so I thought I will just stick it back using feviqwik instant adhesive or something.

    Well the Rs.5/- feviqwik instant adhesive does not work. It could not bond the rubber and strap surface and the two did not even stick for a minute.

    So kindly help me out guys - does any one have an idea what glue to use so that the rubber and velcro straps stay stuck????

    ----
    On another note - when I had bought the gloves the leather seemed a bit dry even though it was soft and supple. After wearing these over a few thousand kms and especially after the last super rainy ride the leather seemed completely dry. It was filled with many tiny wrinkles and had lost its softness. So I cleaned the gloves with a pretty dilute soap solution. Wiped it clean with a damp cloth and let it dry completely. Once dry I conditioned the leather using coconut oil and the leather was so dry it literally drank all the oil I was throwing at it. Now the leather is looking pretty healthy back again and, to be honest, is feeling even more supple that when it was new. The fresh leather smell is also back - I was expecting it to smell of coconut but it is smelling of new leather. So at least happy that this part worked even if the glue part failed.

So I've got a question for you, have you ever washed the gloves? machine wash or hand wash preferred?

    @Sunnyside_up! , a little help here.

    Why not post the queries in Universal Riding Gear thread.
