I received the gloves and jacket today!

And yes, the jacket has stretch panels on the sides of the hip, and near the shoulder blades.

I'd be happy to answer any more questions about the ADV Breed and TBG Street, provided I can get my rookie head around it :P I will also probably blog about it later, if I can sit myself down to do it.

Cold Weather review TBG ADV Breed Riding Jacket + TBG Street Gloves Review

Used the jacket this week for early morning ride.Temperature was about 15 deg.I used the thermal liner inside but still feel the cold specially at the neck and chest. So I bought a thin jacket to wear underneath the tbg.I cant wear thicker jacket as the tbg is very snug fit.So do keep in mind while selecting yours.also can anyone tell me proper way to wear the gloves over the arms.I have the tbg street which is try to wear over the jacket arms but air comes in between the gap between gloves and jacket.

I am using it everyday. The jacket as in is pretty good but the main zip is giving trouble. For 8k I would say its a great jacket. One thing that is missing is the waist adjuster straps. The rain coat also looks flimsy. As of the gloves..I have the sport one and I wear it over the jacket cuff.

I've got the zip trouble too. Do you also have difficulty locking the zip in at the start? I am hoping it will ease in with use. Let's see.

The waist adjuster straps are superfluous for the ADV Breed because the stretch panels ensure a snug fit anyway. I don't have a reference jacket with waist adjusters to compare it with, but I would say it's pretty comfortable even without waist straps.

            Update:

The TBG Street gloves I received had an irregular left glove. I called them and shared them the pictures of the glove, pointing out the defects. I told them I needed the glove urgently. And you know what they said? This:

Considering Let's Gear Up is basically just a shop, the customer support is pretty good. I had originally called them some time last week; but they were away at track day (which I could totally understand ). It took them a couple of days to look at my email due to "back to back customers", but I love it that they shipped the new pair without even waiting for the old one. And I like it that they patiently answered my million phone calls.

If you are considering buying online from LGU, this is something you have to consider. There will be days when the shop is closed due to rides and track days. I don't terribly mind that, because I know I am buying from people who share the same passion as me.

Here are the (badly captured & edited) pictures I sent them:

I use the TBG sports gloves and they feel nice. Basically any gloves upward 3000 will be great. Leather gloves will take at least 4-5 days or riding to fully open up BTW so initially it will be uneasy.

How is the stitching symmetry of both the left and right gloves? Any mismatch or imbalance? This is by far my biggest complain actually. All the gloves I have tried, both the left and the right gloves never match each other. The difference is actually significantly large. If it was minor, I wouldnt be bothered so much.

This is a personal opinion. As of this writing, my TBG Streets are 2-2.5k kms old. The size is L and 90+% of my riding has been in dry weather, in 100km daily commutes.

I'd rate the symmetry as good. There are slight variations, and honestly, these can't be done away with. I think the asymmetry is also partly due to the inherent asymmetry of our own hands. If anything feels too out of place, try another pair / size.

Some quirks to take note of:

                      1. Due to the Knox SPS, I underwent a significant change in the way I hold the handlebar. I am just getting started in the hobby, so this could be a one-off thing that happened only with me.

                      2. Since you have a rubber visor-wiper on the left thumb, it's bound to develop different creases / wear than your right one.

                      3. The gloves leave a mark around the base of the thumb on the back of the hand. These, I think, are due to the seams; so there's nothing I can do about it. But it isn't a deal-breaker.

                      4. It took me over 1000kms to stop experiencing difference / difficulty in control when wearing the gloves, compared to when I'm not. Again, this could be because it's my first-ever pair and I was still getting the hang of riding gloves in general. But I have heard that the gloves are pretty easy to break in.

The symmetry is okish. I never bothered about it too much actually. But the fit is great. The scaphoid protection unit does cause handlebar gripping issue initially . It's just about getting used to it. Overall it's a good buy for me I would say.

after going through this thread i have finalised this jacket but since i reside in mumbai and TBG dont have any distributor in mumbai or nearby area , i want to try it before buying.

Nope the gloves aren't waterproof, the leather is perforated, it has vents. No way water isn't getting in.
I don't think they market it as waterproof either. Talked to Sapna, she said not waterproof.

WOW! So much activity on this thread, havent been following it for some time now

OK, so after almost 10 months of use I can give more feedback -

                                1. Armor is heavy(2.5Kgs overall, but due to its size it seems buly). BUT, you get used to it very fast.
                                2. Rain cover is superb, only thing is little rain seeps in through the zipper lining.
                                3. 3M strips are great for visibility at night.
                                4. Have fallen once on the bike wearing this gear and am scratchless. (Was at 40kmph and had to brake suddenly due to cows rushing in the middle of the road :P )
Suprisingly the jacket is also scratchless! Insane durability

                                5. Jacket has great mesh material, keeps you cool even when moving at 20kmph.
                                6. It does get hot if you're not riding and just walking.
                                7. Doesnt need much cleaning, just the occasional once a month cleaning is more than enough.

Gloves are very snug and have decent rain resistance, stiching on the outside is a great feature. Knox protectors on palms absorb impact fantastically.

P.s. - Selling my jacket and gloves together for 7k (Reason - Selling my bike and moving to Delhi). Condition is great, as in pics.

Not sure if this is the best place to put this, can someone help direct me to the right thread?
