Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)

Yesterday I was speed testing my 180. Could reach 127kmph without crouching. I think crouching could get it beyond 130.

Anyway, what I observed was that above 110kmph, it becomes difficult to execute turns. Even for slight turns, I had to slow down. I also own a gixxer, on which turns are easy even at hight speeds. But I was nervous to execute the turns on my 180.
    Why is this difference?

Making the ride quality and handling better of the 180 UG3

I figured out that the 180 UG3 can be quite a handler while with the following mods

    1. Change the fork oil to Motul Heavy 20W grade
    2. Increase the rear shock pre-load to the last but one notch in case you weigh above 85KG . If you are less than 85KG ,increase it to last but two notch. I think there are totally 8 notches(not sure).Stock(1) is the lowest notch and the softest

With these mods the bike is lot more flick-able and also bends into the corners with aplomb! Just ensure that you have a decent pair of tyres (I run on Michelin pilot sporty 120/80-17 at the rear and Zapper FY1 90/80-17 at the front) and factory recommended tyre pressure.

You will be surprised at the improvement these two changes can make. It is like i found a cheat code to make the bike handle better
