I don't see any warranty or anything as such. I don't worry much about stranded without light as I always have a spare with me.Originally posted by Aakash Singh View PostIs there any replacement warranty and what kind of adjustment you have to make to install these. Are they reliable or simply chinese. I don't want to end up with no light in middle of night.
In regard to adjustment: I had to cut the rubber dust cover to make the bulb fit as it has a large cooling section. Check the pic.

Nice to see such a performance improvement.
Would have helped others, if you could provide AliExpress links to your product.
Also, could you share one more photo, when there’s some oncoming lights. (Especially when some cars comming). I know I am asking a bit more, but it greatly helps others. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
That was a very good written. Loved reading it.Originally posted by Joel Ashirwadam View PostHalogen to LED Conversion
I had several conditions in order to upgrade. I do not want to modify the electricals and do not want to overload the battery. So I must stick to the 35w range. Therefore, I got three choices.
1. OSRAM Silverstar
2. HID
3. LED
Since the OSRAM Silverstar was cheaper (₹250) than the other two, I wanna give it a try. It was definitely better than the halogen that came with the bike. Better, but not enough at all. Used it for six months and had enough of it. Time to move onto better ones.
Fortunately after an extensive research, found that I have to install LED based on the circuit system in the bike (AC/DC). As FZ-S has DC circuit, carefully chose the NAO Motoled 35w DC HS1 LED. It costed me ₹1300 and promised 3000 lumens, that's 4.2 times brighter than the halogen. So placed an order on 9th November and after a "short" delay at the customs, got it on 28th November.

Halogen to LED Conversion
Trust me, most of us hate that 35w stock halogen that comes with Yamaha FZ-S. It is so bat that you can't see anything when there is someone with high beam on the oncoming lane.
Below is my vlog about how bad the issue is...

Now, left with the choice between HID and LED. Started to do some research about them. HIDs are bright but kind of sluggish and learnt that it's life reduces with using pass often. But expensive as well.
With the cost involved with HIDs, LEDs looked more attractive and offered better brightness!
Searched for good LEDs in Coimbatore, but none had a decent brightness and looked more of a fancy gimmick. Out of options, looked online and eventually ended with AliExpress.

The installation was easy and simple but had to make some modification to the rubber dust cover at the back of the headlight.
Here are the pictures

High beam
Low beam
One thing I noticed was not much difference between high and low, but both are very effective.

So after a couple of night riding, for the first time enjoyed night riding. Thanks to those LED headlight.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I was using Motul, there is difference compared to Yamalube. I have noticed in Motul at 6000 RPM it can reach 84kmph where as in Yamalube at 6000 RPM it can reach 87Kmph... So in short even though Yamalube is made by Motul, Yamalube is better in terms of performance and Motul is good for more miles.Originally posted by drmjp93 View PostThanks I should try it out soon and review here.
Update 18Nov:
I fetched one shell petrol pump. This petrol pumps are way too less than Indian Oil /HP.
Filled 2litre(power)+3litre(normal)
lubed chain with Motul C2.
I cannot see any changes in engine sound until now.
But I shall wait upto to 2 more filling cycles to get shell petrol completely into the system, and then report back.
Planning for putting Motul Engine oil next time.

Even i faced the same issues with Indian oil petrol,
Recently i switched to Shell petrol, now my bike sounds really better(smooth)
Don't go for power petrol completely because 150cc engines cannot tolerate such high leaded gases.
Go for a mixed one, like 2litres of power petrol with 3litres of normal one.
After doing lots of experiments with this i found this mixture is better.

Yes absolutely he is right,Originally posted by riderblack View PostMine is running at 3500 kms ! i faced kinda same issue, but from past two weeks, m using shell petrol, and bike feels a lot better and under control. sounds really low even at higher speeds, while using Bharat or Indian oil petrol, it makes heavy sound at higher speeds. May be its just me. m gonna use Motul oil in my 3rd service with shell. hope to get better result. PLUS, m getting average mileage of 48 to 53 km/litre !!
average running speed - 50-60
highest touched - 90km/hr in 0-6 seconds.
and i ride solo all the time and i keep the tyre pressure 28 front - 35 rear
i am badly looking for some one who can guide to change the headlamps, i want to shift to led, without ruining stock assembly ! plug n play sort of led bulb !
also i m looking forward to add a switch for lights, these euro 4 rule is ruining my battery. I dont wanna keep headlamps running all the time. !!
