    Brat,
I'm goin to use 7100 10W40 grade only. Im not going to rip like a racer

I suppose, ~3k for 3L of quality FS oil is do-able, given that the SVC would use some crappy oil and rip me off on the service bill anyway.
Anyone used it yet? Any feedback pls?

This is very common from N - 1st (more of a Thud - happens in almost all of the 600's and above), less common when going from 1st to second, and again happens quite frequently, if you're down-shifting into 1st from 2nd at speeds of about 40k - 50k with clutch-in and closed throttle. Nothing to worry about, really.

I carry a laptop in my backpack (along with tools and spares) which comes close to 12kg, over a distance of 700kms every fortnight on the GT.
The backpack is secured with the help of not more than 3 bungee cords which is Rs.20 per piece. Has never even had the slightest slip of luggage at speeds of over 200k, crazy angles, battered roads and rains. I'd highly recommend for your daily use rather than tank pads (which is sure to scratch your new fuel tank)
or tail bag (never used one more than once, since i was not too fond of the aesthetics).

Nice...!! Kill the bad guy and get the girl...

    ----

On a completely different note, had the GTR checked a short while after my second service a month ago
and all kinds of issues that had been plaguing my GT have been completely fixed. Thanks to some of the
knowledgeable engineers who happen to have visited from Pune to Bangalore.

What started out as a sensor or ECU related issue turned out to be massive oil deposit on spark plug (i dont know how it got there either).
Changed the plugs to another pair of OEM's and she now runs like a dream. Currently, done about 8500kms and 3rd service
is in another week or so at 9000kms. I started out on semi-synth and will be sticking to Motul 300v 15w50, going forward.

^ I normally use a bungee cord to tie my [laptop]bag to the rear seat before I start ride.
