I could relate to what you mean. I used to take my semi-restored RD350 which i adore more than the GT, to work. Some guy/guys had torn the seat completely with a blade, had thrown the bike on the right side with a dent in the fuel tank and a bent handle bar. It was a new workplace and this happened at the second day at work, so having any foe's there isn't likely.

I was much saddened to see that such things were being done and was pretty pissed off at that time, watching my beloved 2-stroker in that condition really fired me up.

When there are idiots out there who would want to deface a 25 year old bike which is half way in the process of being slowly restored back to life - it is likely it could happen to the GT. Have stopped taking either the GT or the RD for work and using the ZMA.

^^^ well ... somebody is too jealous of you, seems like you have more foes then friends....install a xena disc lock with alarm and vibration sensor. simple and effective. not too costly.

had parked my bike in sirifort sports complex, where I have been doing so almost every day for 3-4 months now, never have I had a problem with people messing around, in fact, only a few people even asked about it

I thought, perfect, cause I really dont like the attention, I try not to show it off

(btw.. sirifort is a pretty neat sports complex, although govt run, its a hotspot for sport playing people in delhi, was a venue for racket sports during the cwg in 2010)

when I got back, found the bike with both rear view mirrors (had custom 1s, with LED indicators) broken off and the front right side indicator gone as well
right side windscreen inteferes with steering, and whats so weird is there are no visible scratches on the sides, fairing

will take it to the showroom tom and have a proper look then, just pissed now

well, theres a lesson everywhere everytime to be learnt, not gonna be taking the GT there now

My GT has now completed 9000kms and i wanted to install K&N air filter. Its not a straight fit but with a slight tweak - it is possible to install, just so that i dont have keep replacing it every now and then, but - rather just clean and re-use. Besides, I was in the hopes of adding a new end can later in the year. So this small mod would be a good place to start.

I was told by the dealer (Bangalore) that the air filter change is considered as a 'MOD' and it would void warranty. If your dealer has assured you, that you can continue to utilize the factory warranty with the TBR exhaust, then - nothing better than that..!

Just make sure he does not back-out of this agreement at a later point of time, if you need to utilize warranty.

like I pointed out before, I've ordered the exhaust through the dealer, hence warranty is still intact, so if anything does go wrong, it should be taken care of

Hey bro.Avoid going for Carbon fiber Two Brothers Racing exhaust,either go for Aluminium or Titanium one's.As Brat has already pointed out the V-Twin engines will pose problems on the Carbon Fiber exhaust.
Yes a Slip-on exhaust will Void warranty.

I've ordered the CF-TBR exhaust through the dealer on his say so that it will not void the warranty, so if anything does go wrong, it'll be covered.
I actually wanted to go for the titanium.

I've registered for a track day on the Buddh circuit, Apr 22, will hopefully have the exhaust ready by then
I don't redline during the usual sunday n city rides but I will be pushing it during the track day so we'll just have to see how it holds up

An unfortunate fellow rider of mine had his CF-TBR fall apart during a track day just after 6 laps on the 06' SV650R two weeks ago. It was nothing specific to TBR or the slip-on mounting, but more to do with the vibes generated by the v-twin. I am not sure about the heat part which you've mentioned.

Unless you redline on a regular basis, i dont see why you should not go for the carbon, against the Aluminium (which looks rather sad).

As an FYI, You would be voiding the dealer/company warranty of the GT when you begin modding it, just mentioning - since your's is a relatively new bike.

My 2011 GT is currently running on EBC-Pro pads, Sintered Double-H for the front and organic for the rear.

The already good braking power of the bike, has now much improved with the new pads. It took only 80kms of spirited riding to break-in the new pads, the sintered pads do not appear give as much progressive brake feel as the organic pads do, i dont know if its either a personal opinion or because the pads are pretty new - you may want to check with someone else who've used them, As i understand - It is because i've not installed the SS brake lines that are needed to provide the progressive braking feel.

I am still using the stock rubber hose line and considering the next install to be a Galfer braided SS lines for front and rear, when i can source it at a price where i dont have to sell off an arm.

Pads have run for 700kms at the moment and there are no noticeable brake fade even after long hours on the twisties.

Brakes upgrade

Since I've become more accustomed to the power n speed of the bike, I've been pushing it more n more..
I'd like to upgrade the brakes, maybe instill some confidence, rest assured, I only let loose in rather safe environments, do quite a bit of city riding as well but just to get more of the bike..
so anyone here who's got upgraded brakes? where can I order them from?

Aftermarket exhaust

I'm going to get a new aftermarket exhaust soon..was considering Two Brothers and Leo Vince since they're both available in India, not yet in Delhi though..
I've had a look n heard them both..will be checking them out in action day after (usual Sunday ride with GT group members)..
Not much of a price difference between the two, but I do like the shape n look of the TBR exhaust much better, also the options of aluminium, carbon fibre n titanium..
The dealer in Delhi, is offering the TBR exhaust for 27,500 (aluminium) n 33,500 (carbon fibre) along with warranty
TBR exhausts are available online for way less, excluding shipping, ranging from 16000-27000..

What do you guys think? Should I go ahead with the dealer's offer?
Also, I've heard that carbon fibre might be a problem on a V-twin because of the enormous heat?

Brake upgrade?

Hi people,

Has anyone here upgraded their brakes? How much of a difference is seen with EBC HH brake pads/ SS lines?

I am planning to get these:
