i feel bajaj is persistant and more important also get their timing right to suit the Indian market needs and budget. And their bikes share a similar platform for various models, so it easier for them.
Yamaha was lost a few years ago and have regained decent composure (over the past decade) here in India. I hope they don't do something like a suzuki intruder

First, we tried to convert the front drum to a disc. As I have a classic Pulsar 150 as a donor bike, set up the front wheel of the P150 on Enticer. There was an issue because Enticer has large drum and the shock absorber and disc distance was too much to fit a calliper directly. Some brainstorming was done, a complete disc brake kit for P150 was obtained from Nana Peth for 1500 and the bike now has front disc 
. Engine work completed, all unsavoury sounds gone except for a little sound from the clutch housing which I have not changed yet. Now I can literally take her out
