Ok. Enough. Sorry mods and all for being OT.
reading these comments me too had a big lough out @'honda' 'stunner' 'ji'....now i am having more laughs by wondering what it would be like if other owners name themselves 'splendor' 'ji', CD down ji, gladiator'ji' , sling shot'ji' etc....

      Update:

After running about 200kms, the problems surfaced again, engine became harsh ,noise increase, Lubed the chain again with fresh engine oil, problem disappeared temporarily(to an extend),only to return the next day, Noticed the chain very loose and an indicator bulb got fused, took the bike to svc and listened to the bad-news: Sprocket is worn out, a tooth is almost gone, it is to be replaced at next service(cost about 850rs and available only as a set) also Cone-set is to be replaced(Another 400rs)

I have a few questions now.
1.Is this normal for a bike at 12999kms?
2.Is single sprocket available from outside market, without replacing as a set?
3.I am planning to over-gear my bike, does any other bikes chain-set matches slingshot??
      4.Isn't cone-set covered under warranty?

BTW very happy with suzuki QualityService engineer says initial batches of bike has this problem new ones has better quality(So it's my crime for buying it very early)
PS-Suzuki increased Slingshot price not sure by how much.

For a normal driving it shouldn't.. Just post a snap of the rear sprocket , also the photo of the chain adjuster area... That will be eay for us to understand whether it has worn out or not.. I doubt heavily it wouldn't have worn out ..

2.Is single sprocket available from outside market, without replacing as a set?
Available for other bikes. Dont know whether it'll suit our bikes.. Didnt checked it..

any accidents?? And which sprocket is damaged?
Try with Warranty claim. My 25k old (open 'o' ring) chain is still in use, though not great in condition. Both sprockets are also kinda ok. for most bikes front sprocket are available.
And I think so early sprocket damage is because of over tightening of chain or poor quality material.
For overgearing tell me the number of teeth of both sprockets and fitment holes/types..

Sorry for replying so late, but the tool kit provided by Suzuki is so pathetic it can only be used to add some weight to the bike, and was busy with classes, brought a new ring spanner and removed lower part of chain case, i took some pics but i don't have a good camera, pics taken using Nokia C1-00.
Next service is scheduled for 7th September.
steering has a tendency to occasionally lock up in mid-corners so i`m going to change cone-set in the next service itself, replacing chain-set will depend up on your comments, Dropped over-gearing plans as i may sell this bike soon.

Sprockets end part of each spike(?) is uneven,it might not be clear in the photo, but it is

If you are to sell the bike, you need not be bothered about the chain. It does not seem to be fully worn out but cannot say anything exactly as it was not cleaned even before taking the pictures.
Clean it with kerosene, apply WD-40 to make each link and roller moves freely and lube with a mixture of EP 140 oil and lithium based grease. What that chain lacks is proper lubing. Change the cone set too.
Which bike are you planning to buy? Whatever it is, try to maintain it in a good condition.

i was planning to keep this one for more than 5 years, now the plan is changed as i'm planning to relocate for studies within 1 1/2 years and no one here to use the bike

Will do,but the black thingy is actually grease which i applied a few days back

No bikes till i get a job

I had regularly did all periodic services till now and chain is tightened and lubed at svc almost every 15 days as it gets loose every ~500KMS
What made the cone-set became damaged so soon??
Do people clean chain of bikes with full chain-cover??
BTW foot-peg vibration has increased, not exactly clear cut vibration as in Flame and Apache but some sort of vibe which makes our teeth go awful(what is the right word? .hope you understand what i mean).Especially for pillion.

                  ,
All kinds of chain needs cleaning man and you over-greased your chain. Only a thin layer is need very thin layer, just to keep the oil from flinging off.
Can't make out any damage to the sprocket or teeth (spike, in your words)
                  for chain cleaning,
                  * spray kerosene (or diesel, wd40 etc) on chain, use tooth brush to brush of the gunk from all sides. Repeat until clean.
                  * now wipe of the excess and (remove chain from bike) let the chain dry by hanging it for over night in garage or your preferred place.
                  * after drying it, put the chain in a container filled with EP90 gear oil for an hour by max.
                  * now take out the chain from container, wipe of the excess and put the chain back on bike.
                  * apply a very thin coating of grease.
-- Removal of chain can be skipped and cleaning & lubericating of sprocket won't harm anything.

                    Here is an Update:
Service costed me 895rs which covers
                    Fork oil change -100
                    Cone raiser - ~500
                    washing - 70
                    General service charge - 170
                    Oil filter - 35
                    Also
Filled up Motul 7100 10W40 costing rs 710. Castrol 15W40 had became ultra black after 2500kms.
                    Chain cleaned and lubed.
                    Results:
Engine is devoid of any noise and is responding well to throttle input.
Clutch has a better feel than it was before.
Bike runs for 48kms for 50 rs of petrol in CITY CONDITION,petrol costs 71.14per litre(68kmpl mileage) with an ECU mapped for FE on right hand of-course.
Chain still makes a lot of noise at speeds above 40,and foot peg vibes starts at 55kph and bike vibrates like an Apache at anything over 80.
Yesterday chain felt very loose, so i took it to a local mech and he said chain slack is correct and he won't over-tight it,he asked me to take the bike to service center as bike is under warranty for something is wrong with the sprocket as the Chain is not moving in straight line when wheels are turned instead it is dancing up and down even when chain is full tight.
Anyway planning to use the same chainset as long as possible and till then enjoy the FE.

ps-Glad to see xTracker finally working properly on chrome.

ECU?? i guess you mean carb..so as now your bike is on FS oil, keep the oil level always under check, there are/were many case of FS oil getting vaporised.BTW, you can get hold of a chain set much cheaper if you hunt for it.

The chain's life is some what over.A broken chain while driving will become a costly affair. So change it .Buy Diamond or Rolon from out side.At Manjerry you have distributers and it will cost only Rs.600/-. Your photos are for rear sprocket,it is front and chain rollers which have given up. for the time being to save from sound reverse the front sprocket and fix .Purely temporary though sound will go.

Don't drive fast and long with worn out chain. Take care.

^^ i didn't read the entire discussion, but if your bike has an O-ring chain, because it does not have a chain cover, and you put a non O-ring chain, that non O-ring will not last long without chain cover.

see, the chain needs to be protected from dirt to function properly, you can provide protection either by O-ring or a chain cover, but you can't discard both.

because, if you discard both, your chain will not have any protection at all, and will wear out much faster.
