Finally decided to change chain-set as a small trip is coming up.At showroom it costs rs850 but then i was offered suzuki heat chain-set for rs 650/- by a local mechanic but when we tried to install it : front sprocket is same, rear sprocket is 2/3 teeth smaller(to my liking) but when we counted chain links, heat has 49 links while slingshot has 57.So we decided its better not to take the risk and ordered ROLON kit for slingshot which will arrive on saturday(Price rs~750).

SE at our SVC told the replacement chain-set has some improved tech(He said it has some balls/bearings or something i failed to hear properly)which the older one lacks,I am a bit tensed with replacing with ROLON as the original kit which lasted only 15K is made by them.

BTW early chain damage is not my only problem,i met 2 slingshot owners with similar issue, one guy had to remove a link from a local mechanic and the other guy tells me that he was planning to spend 850rs but then he changed the plan after taking ride of his cousins new passion pro(old model) as his bike feels healthier. It's a shame we brought the bike from a sub-dealer, otherwise we could have escalated this issue to suzuki HO.

Drained motul 7100 after 6500kms,mechanic said it was still in great condition(drained oil had slightly darkened but still in nice thickness ) but did not want to take risk as trips are coming up,poured in Gulf 20W40,costs 270rs for a liter(got a 10rs coupon from inside) i`m a bit disappointed with immediate result, gulf oil had good reviews here in xbhp, Anyway going back to motul next time

Return of the Cone-set

As you guys may know, my cone-set was replaced at 13k and currently ODO stands at 18500kms, Yesterday while braking i heard that TaK sound again while braking.I never rode rash/over potholes etc after changing cone-set before(And neither before it), its very mild but it is definitely there. Is there any way to save it Without spending another 600 from my pocket?
This bike is going to remind me never to buy another Suzuki with 2 wheels(4 wheels is ok).

Yea the shocks are littel stiff as Rashid was complaining. .

This thread is almost dead . .

Re: Suzuki Slingshot Plus

Stiff fork?? take it to the svc, they'll fix it(probably by reducing fork oil).
->Suzuki sickering department really lost this time, the old one looked plainer and was a lot better.
->after riding 25ks i can assure you that overall acceleration will definitely improve overtime.(try riding an old slingshot to feel it)
->valves get loose frequently and starts making noise, requires specific mention for svc to fix during service.

oh and please do take care of the paint.

The handle might have got loosed get the handle tightened and see the difference, but don't get the handle tightened too much.

Well I'll look for the stiff fork in my 1st service. . .

What is the mileage you are getting ? Rashid what was the longest trip you did on slingshot in one day?

Do you feel vibs ? If so.. . At what kmph do you feel. .

Personally I also liked the older slingshot. .this one with front visor is not so appealing. .

Re: Suzuki Slingshot Plus

Alright, i admit it was a bad purchase, Poor Pickup,Poor Braking and Very very stiff shock absorbers ; But mileage was good, so was the Engine in terms of refinement, Push it to 100kph ( On Speedo) and the engine wont. The exhaust note is very sweet.

Apart from a chainset and cone raiser which was changed before 15000kms and the disc brake issues which where never rectified, rust was the only major quality issue i faced.

So finally decided to say adieu and buy a new one. I wasn't sure which bike to buy but i was sure it will not be a Suzuki and i started to search for new bike.

After trying NS,P150,180, hondas and apache, i almost got fixed on Apache 180, but the ABS version has a minimum booking of 6 Months and there is a high chance for the model to be withdrawn. So confused and indecisive i visited Suzuki showroom and fell in love with Gixxer , Booked using Paytm Cash back offer of Rs.3000 (less 500 convenience charges) and I'm getting Delivery of my Gixxer SP 2017 tomorrow

But HEll YEAH,for 6 years ....It Never Let Me Down & We went places....

ps:Slingshot is not being produced now.

Edit: Sorry for not replying to above post, Not replying now as it is very old

Re: Suzuki Slingshot Plus

Its been very long and i never regretted buying this bike.

I did over 100k kms on this in last 5 years and it was time to move on.

I ride an Apache310rr now.

Slingshot will be in my garage always as i don't like to sell any old bikes.
