[Ownership Thread]: Apache RTR 180 - ABS versions...
Offlate, I had hard time in finding ABS related queries, which were merged with regular RTR thread... though we find many model specific issues, it wasnt really posted to grab the attention to be answered promptly. All ABS related queries can be posted here... I'm gonna update my own experience on 1 year old ABS issues and prompt ways to resolve it.Dont defeat your enemy.. destroy him. offer hope then crush it..fuel his ego then break it.. finally. deploy ABS..execute the curve..victims defeat assured.. victims confidence destroyed...!!! All with my Beast.. Racing beast....!!!!

One cannot really understand how "ABS" practically work or its effective unless or until been there & done that
What I Understood is When we Apply Brake (Not necessary Hard Brake or Panic Braking or Emergency Braking etc etc..) as soon as wheel get locked (for a Milliseconds) ABS Comes in Picture & you will by itself feel the Jerking on the Lever (Rear/Front whichever is used) & its very noticeable you will certainly will get very odd feeling in first few cases... It Will automatically pump your brakes & will reduce the chances of falling off (Unless you are really Panic) so keep yourself cool & let ABS Work the way it work & don't pull lever very hard when ABS is working...

TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS
I booked my TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS on October 20, 2012 (my birthday) and got the delivery on October 31, 2012.
I joined xBHP and realized that there is no ownership thread for the beast. Hence, I am creating this thread and calling all the owners of TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS to share their experiences.
My experience so far has been great, although I still have not completed the running in period.
My first ride on the bike was till Lonavala this past Sunday (November 25, 2012) and I only have one thought, if the bike is so much fun to ride within the running in period limit, what will it unleash when I ride it to it's full power
Here are two photos of me and the bike, and the bike royally parked at Lion's point Lonavala.
My bike will go for the first servicing this week, and then I plan to take the beast for a long ride. I will post the pictures and share my experiences about that later.- Mansha

Thread Approved and MergedAdvice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Just wanted to know your feedback on this vehicle.

You will get much clear reply there.
I don't feel your height & weight will be an issue for the RTR 180.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, another question I have is that when I ride above 60kmph, the moment I release the accelerator or reduce the acceleration to reduce the speed, there is a kach sound at the bottom, which is more like the sound that comes when the bike goes through a pot hole. I informed the service center about this too but just like any service center, they did not fix the problem.
Can you please help?- Mansha

Re: Apache RTR 180 - ABS versions...
Can someone please confirm if old model of RTR 180 ABS is still in production?
My dealer said old Apache model is available only with non-ABS RTRs.I do not want to blindly believe dealers, they will say anything to clear their existing stock

Re: Apache RTR 180 - ABS versions...
Guys am planning to change my sparkplug to NGK iridium. As I searched the ngk website they say CR7EIX is for apache rtr. Wen I tried to buy it online I could only see NGKITA 16 available. And I check the forums and could find only the 160FI guys are using it.
Are both same?? Can v use NGKITA 16 in 180??
