Hey thanks and extremely sorry for replying so late, I was away from internet for some time ...and yes my green machine does keep me smiling all the time.

So, to answer your question, the first service costed me around rs 5200 which included oil change (the same motul 7100). They do charge hefty labour cost, almost half of the total bill was against labour. I was definitely disappointed with the total bill, given the total service time and effort was minimal (1.5hrs for just oil change, chain lubing, oil filter change, air filter clean etc). To top this list, they charged for routine inspection as well like clutch adjustment, accelerator play adjustment etc which actually required no attention (well, they do require attention, but they could have simply asked me if I'm facing any problem with them. They don't need to charge for that). I don't have the bill with me right now but when you look at it, you got to control your emotions.

Also, in pune, the service centre is in a very congested area. They have just 2 bays so they can handle only 2 bikes at a time. I talked to the manager there who mentioned that they are planning to shift the service centre to some other area in pune (forgot the area name )

A few updates from last week with pictures:

1. Bikenware(bought from amazon) RE-350 classic's body cover sits well, it has a clip underside which prevent fly-off.


2. Installed frame sliders from Venom Ancillary. Mr. Ganesh helped procure them from UK and referred to his well-known FNG "Team balance point in Vijayanagara, Bangalore(more on this later). They are heavy and blend into the side profile easily.

3. Yes, petrol tank needs to come off. This is where Mr. Rafiq, an expert, mechanic, "Doctor"(as many call him), front runner of TBP-workshop in Bengaluru had done a impeccable job fitting them. Side body panel weren't needed to be taken off though.


4. Another clean, good quality work with installing splash guard(bought from amazon). Feels sturdy and works like a charm. No more red/mud faced people yelling from behind.

I hadn't been over handling charges w.r.t. sense of urgency:

1. IKM's response time was 24-48hrs and i had just 27th-29th March to book, conduct PDI, finalize invoice to avoid April's hiked price(30th and 31st was a weekend).
2. After discount came down to ~ 3.7L OTR (without accessories) which i think would almost be the similar range if i had gone the above way.

Got to know later the price hike was actually towards MoRTH's and vahan's new version of software and no changes in Ex-showroom prices.

After following this thread for almost a year, I brought a MY2019 Ninja 300 home on Ugadi(6/4). This also is my first post on xBhp and below is a small write-up/experience/opinions.


Background:
With a short span relationships with Iron 883 and Street Rod, the need for better motorcycle kept tapping the head while Harley's heating effect is a real turn off yet the sound, Harley DNA itself are uniquely overwhelming. The budget at hand and POTUS's / GoI's polcies on US imports; the Iron 883 today costs a whopping Rs.13L OTR Bangalore while our 2014 model was brought home at Rs.8L OTR Hyderabad. Why upgrade when reliable, smaller, touring machines are easily present and shopping for the next little tourer had just begun as a replacement.


Versys 650: What a motorcycle, witnessed hard curve maneuvers from tarmac onto mud/stony trails without hesitation. Too large vehicle for me now,hence a possible upgrade after.
Ninja 400: Overall great package but overpriced(did Kawasaki take cues from Honda Cars?).
Ninja 300: After 2 TRs things did seem confident and riding position wasn't that committed. However low GC is a concern.
KTM RC390: Well built, Showroom experience was great, very close competition, friends and family together have 4 390s so decided no more orange.
Yamaha R3: Cracker of a motorcycle, throaty and mid-range keeps asking more. Scanned some really good NON-ABS ones in pre-owned market at Rs.3L, ABS MY19 one was offered at Rs. 4.3L(A tad expensive).
No Italians considered for step-motherly treatment towards us Indians(Be it costs, service bills, parts, etc).
On 3rd week of Jan 2019, saw the news about part localization of Ninja 300 and the full list of new lower prices. Mind was made !


Showroom(Sales): Rideventur, Langford road, Bangalore. Deepank was the POC for the sale and turned out to be really good(compared to my terrible experience in HD in all 3 Bangalore showrooms), well informed, right from booking to delivery, anticipating a price hike after 1st April 2019(Rs.20000 approx), booked the vehicle, did PDI 2 days later, reserved number with RTO and got delivered within a week. Rideventur has professionals who adhere and remember small requests before delivery. Delivery process, introducing the vehicle and final PDI was all over under 30mins.


Still in run-in period(now at 100 kms ODO), here are some observations:


Pros and Cons:
+ Great engine, NVH and beat in mid-range is addictive.
+ Parallel twin engine is now BS6 compliant(As per Rideventur).
+ Comfortable riding position, even for pillion.
+ suspension irons out small-mid bumps really well.
+ Endurance brakes work on dot!
+ Steering feedback, heat dissipation are great.
+ IT COMES in BLUE !


- Low GC, scraped UB exhaust thrice already.
- Heavy motorcycle and sways well at tank full.
- Dated dashboard, no gear indicator !
- Sharp turning had squeezed my fists against the tank(Learnt to never turn handle to the ends)
- Radiator is sensitive to dirt, stones and slight finger touch.
- Missing mud-guards, come rainy season all riders following N300s will be sprayed !


Accessories(Planned, ordered, yet-to-be fitted):
1. Evotech radiator guard(direct website order)
2. Venom frame sliders.
3. M10 red spools from Motofusion.
4. Paddock stand from G.A Engineering Mumbai.
5. Tank pad and Bike cover(BikenWear RE-350CC) from Amazon.
6. Ceramic coating to save from direct scratches? (PPF/gum destroyed our HDs body panels in the past)
7. Rear wheel splash Guard like Ducati scrambler or KTM.(later)
8. Upgrade to H7 white bulbs.(later)


This is me in partial riding gear and the 2019 Ninja 300 in Candy Plasma BLUE !

Those should be good upgrades. Yes, buy them online and get them installed at the svc or by your trusted mech, if you have one.

I am thinking about Woodcraft clipons and Yoshimura rearsets.
Do you have any idea how I could get those installed? Do I purchase them online and have a mechanic install them?

Hi,
You can opt on getting aftermarket clip-ons, aftermarket rearsets and you can even lower the front forks in order to achieve more aggressive riding posture.

When it comes to these aftermarket accessories, i'd suggest you get it from good brands. Even if it costs more, they will last longer and will not fiddle with your ride quality like any other local or custom made ones. Remember that all these are major components which will help you in handling the bike well and ride quality will be improved. Do not compromise with them.

Well, I opted for complete 5 yr comprehensive insurance...so total on road for me was INR 3.77Lakhs.

If you take just 1 yr comprehensive and 5 yr third party, then it would be about 24k less i.e. INR 3.53Lakhs (approx)

Hello guys.

I'm your new peer as a Ninja 300 2019 owner
Got my green machine on 6th March and so far I've clocked some 900 kms on it.

I've observed that when I ride for more than half an hour, the seat and fuel tank gets heated up and becomes a little uncomfortable to ride for longer duration.

Have you guys observed this? Is this normal? Any solutions perhaps?

I have decided to buy a new Ninja 300 instead of buying it second hand.
Can anyone tell me how I could achieve a bit more aggressive seating position? I am not short, I am 6'1".
I do know about woodcraft clip-ons but they are a bit too expensive for me. Are there cheaper options available in the indian market?
Also, is there an easy to way I could maybe increase the seat height a bit? Apart from changing the tyres?

I am new to motorcycles in general.
I love the Ninja 300 and owning is like a dream to me. I was thinking about purchasing a pre-worshiped Ninja 300 from the Mumbai area.
Could someone please tell me what things I should be cautious about when purchasing one?

P.S. I plan on getting a second hand ninja 300 and wrapping it in plain glossy red. Does any of you know how much wrapping a Ninja 300 could cost me? I am trying to estimate an amount so that I could decide on whether I should get a Ninja 300 or not.
