Its been an year and half a month since i brought my first bike 'Suzuki Slingshot Plus' (Silling shaat in my mothers voice),i had to choose among the 100-125cc bike as i had to use to commute daily to my college(Which is 15kms away) as cheap as possible but still look trendy,,I was considering the following
1.Passion pro apdv - avoided because Showroom ppl quoted mileage between 55- 60 only and vibes
2.Honda Shine - 4 month waiting period and vibes
3.HH Glamour Fi - Nice bikes but not much VFM and Waiting period
4.Discover - My friends had bad experience with pulsars, they advised me against buying a Bajaj unless it's a 220.
5.Honda twister - small rear tires and unreasonable price for a 110 cc
i mainly decided to buy Slingshot as it 'stands out'(In college bike shed pulsars and ZMA's are like fish in fish market, but i'm see'ng more slingshots in the road these days),pricing is acceptable 55k along with front disc, Gear Indicator(sometimes ppl sitting in pillion tells me that headlights are on) and zero vibrations.i shall post a detailed user experiance very soon.

OK Everyone,Here's my 1 year experience with my Suzuki Slingshot+(Here after referred to as 'The bike',
I brought the bike on 23-March-2011 from a small showroom called Reliance motors here in Tirur(Malappuram Dist,Kerala),The bike costed a total of 55680(including 380 for tank and seat cover) for black color SCD model(Disc, Alloy, Self Start) firstly here's the technical specification copied from Suzuki website

          ---------------------------------------------------
The warranty is only for a period of 2 years, which i think i very short as most competitors gave a minimum five years warranty,

Bike is to be serviced every Fifty days in the warranty period, Six are free services(3 paid service after 4 free service and then 2 more free) I just received the bike yesterday after eight free service(costed nothing)
          Service charges are like this
          Paid service(Labor charge?? )-Rs-170
          Washing -Rs-70
          Oil change -Rs-220-250(cost of oil filter,Probably )
          Oil Top-up -Rs-30
Except on free services, i wash my bike myself and save rs 70(i does a better job than them and i wax too)
Haven't incurred any other expense till date except the brake light which got fused.

          --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The dealer told me not to exceed 45kph until first service, which i followed as far as possible,
If one compare it with other 125cc's in the market, 'The bike' has the slowest initial pick up,May be its because of the clutch i am not sure, but once the bike is moving it picks-up decently(I said decently)and u'll be in fifth cog before you know it,but once it hits 45kph in fifth gear the bike starts to show its 125cc Nature,It gives nice throttle response till 75 and goes on to 80 and 85,But after 85 acceleration is slow and engine'll start to cry but still no vibes until a speed-o indicated 90,I am sure it'll touch 100 but never had a chance to ride in National highways, braking is acceptable but the disc brakes lacks the strong bite as seen in FZs and Pulsars.
The bike weights only 129kg and weight is perfectly distributed makes city riding a bliss, high torque at low RPM enables lesser gear shifts however the gear sometimes get stuck in 2nd gear when the bikes stopped and it wont budge until i release the clutch, other than that the gears are super smooth, and no false neutrals

And the important thing as per mileage i'm getting 57 when ridden under 70kph after clocking 9994 in the ODO ,how ever it will go above 64 if i held at 45(but that is not the easiest thing to do)

          And finally to sum up
          PROS:
          1.Zero vibration
          2.Easy handling
          3.FE
          4.Better road grip,(Secura zoom tires).
          5.Different look.

          CONS:
1.Lacking initial pick-up(in that respect i must say twister is awesome as it jumps in your hand)
2.Engine feels strained at higher speeds.
          3.Poor Service network.
          4.No tacho(Dear Suzuki,, that's a serious flaw)
          5.Different look.

          EndNote:
1.The bike is not a competition to Gladiator/Stunner,It serves the purpose it was built for.
2.Its the first time i'm writing something like this, also my skill in English is very average,so please pardon my mistakes and correct me
3.I shall add pictures later as my net is very slow now

          Thanks for reading

              Coming Up: Topspeed check

This Tuesday i'm going to give the bike for service at the calicut suzuki service center which is about sixty-seventy kms from my home(meaning about 40 kms of National and state highway)so i intend to check the Top speed of the bike.I've got to leave very early as i had to get there first and hand over service book in-order to get the bike serviced at the earliest. Also i'm going to buy an Iridium spark plug and a good semi-synthetic oil(Additionally planning to raid Focus mall for a Jean and Shirt for wearing at my cousins marriage+a bag+second hand books for next semester).

Actually I don't know the location of service center at calicut, not even its name, and this is my second trip to calicut, last time i was on running in and it was a nightmare<<was riding like a cycle.
Oh and BTW, Does running at top-speed with loose tappets cause any damage to the engine??
              UPDATE:
Rain spoiled top speed checking plan, my Eight and final Free service was done,no consumables were use so the bill was zero,Impressed by Hapco Suzuki Calicut, Awesome customer service,Carb cleaned, Tuned with computerized tuner, some for adjustment, valve clearance corrected(No more irritating noise),FE has definitely improved-Will report exact after checking

                Fuel Efficiency Report

72 kmpl in longer(40plus km)Rides with average speed fifty and occasional short burst to 70.
67 kmpl in town area, Tried my best to keep at top gear(Not in stop and go Traffic).
Test done using reserve to reserve method, petrol filled for rupees fifty every time(68.01 rs/l).Testing using the 100ml can is a waste of time and fuel cause i was getting absurd reading of 'less than triple digit' figures.

BTW petrol price hiked by a whooping 7 rs, so i still have to rely on bus to go to college

that svc in calicut is awful and way too busy coz suzuki seems to have sold fairly well in there... why don't you try the opposite direction?

my slingshot plus is 1-1/2 years old and 8000km has following issues

mileage is between 45 to 50kmpl
shocks are very stiff and rear one is really stiff and when I enquired with dealer he says there is no adjustment can be done for the same which is surprising
due to which no ride comfort in bad roads

Both shocks can be adjusted, rear one can be adjusted using L shaped tool in your tool kit, front fork can be adjusted only from SVC, i used to have this problem but now its fixed, i recommend that you change your service center/ ask a local mechanic, and about the mileage part, i`m shocked, Once i got 48 when i stupidly messed with the carb to increase pick-up.

                          BTW: Where are you from??
