Dear Guys. I am briefing my second hand ZMR purchase that was done today. I have saved up close to 50K and was planning to wait for couple of months so as to buy Gixxer SF 2016 manufactured one. However, a casual search in olx distracted my plans as i came across a 2012 ZMR white variant stated as well maintained and had run just 10K. Just thought of checking it and so visited the seller's location. But, the physical appearance of the bike and a short test ride lured me to finish the deal on spot. So, i bargained, settled down to 45K, finished the document formalities and took the possession. So far, i have covered just 50 kms and the overall ride quality was too good. However, i have noticed few minor issues like rattling noise from Headlight visor, some vibrations at low speed ride(@30-45kms) which makes me feel bad. Any suggestions on this? I may be little nit picky as i am used to the smooth engine and refinement of Honda Unicorn previously. Moreover, do you guys have any suggestions on periodical checkups to be performed (like FI cleaning, idle adjustment- presently its on higher side ~1500RPM) etc? I am from Chennai.

First of all, congratulations!
Secondly, this being a big(ger) single cylinder engine, will never be as relaxed as a 150cc Unicorn. However, it is the Unicorn of its class.
Now, coming to your queries:
1. 1400+-100 is the ideal idle RPM. It's normal on this bike. Moreover due to FI, you cannot play around with it anyways.
2. Use a (discarded) bicycle tube and cut out washers of it and use it between joints. Also, wrap the console with the same or double sided tape. (Tube looks and lasts better IMO.)
3. Visit a Bharat Petroleum petrol station and get yourself a bottle of Iftex System G. Use it for a couple of tankfuls. (1 ml per litre).
4. I'd say - get better/new tires, battery and look out for wear and tear in chain and sprockets. Also, upgrade to a 55w H4 bulb. It's plug and play.

I'm in Bangalore since 2012. Before that, I was put up in Chennai.

Not really brother. Though we use 'lakh' predominantly because it seems to be taken straight out of the hindi word 'laakh', but 'lac' is just as correct.
