    Hello friends,

I had been watching this thread closely since I needed a new scoot as a workhorse. Finally got one in grey on Monday.

Delivery experience was good. I chose the scoot from several grey colored ones in the dealer's lot. Manufacturing date is 28 August as per the sticker. OTR cost 59965/- Did not opt for those ugly steel guards. Other things added:

    foot board matting
    seat cover
    0 dep insurance
    extended warranty
    complimentary teflon

Got insurance free due to state govt employee benefit

    3. Disc brakes have tendency to lock the wheel in the front more than drum brakes (in my personal opinion). And for the Jupiter I would say the drum brakes are more than adequate.
    Thanks a lot,

    1. I had asked TVS ASC mechanics to clean and tune carb. Most probably they didn't as i couldn't be there when they were servicing the scoot. Is it advisable to get the same done from roadside mechanics? Because atleast they will do the job, TVS mechanics simply ignore what we request them to do and just do the oil change and cleaning of the vehicle in the name of 'service'.

    2. I will get liners checked, thanks. Rear brakes are very strong but front brakes, even when pulled with full force, i barely feel any retardation. As if someone poured oil inside the drum

    2. Front drum brake is non existent. Rear brake has very good bite but front doesn't stop even when pulled with full force. Tried adjusting them, found no improvement. Any solution to this?

Can it be converted to a disc setup? i know it may cost a bomb, would require new master cylinder, caliper and disc, new alloy, new right fork. I am willing to shell out money if total cost doesn't exceed 6k.

Re: TVS Jupiter Owners Review and Experience

This is review of my First paid service at 12600 Kms after 15 months of

Purchase. The TVS Jupiter proved to be a good horse and works really well.

MIleage remains between 50-55 considering i live in metro and also drive on

highways at 60 odd speeds. I had changed my stock horn to Minda windtone

horn and it worked really well, but the service centre people screwed this

time by putting too much water and now the horn doesnt sound well. Though

the horn is well fixed inside what to tell to such service centre peoples.

This is first time after service horn hasnt worked well and remains to put

a feeble output instead of the smooth wind tone output. Spent one full hour opening the front cover and found that water had entered into the horn, took horn out and removed the water. Now horn sounds well. Also my Vehicle has

got too much scratches unknowingly by parking on roads / beaches etc

wherein vehicles are closely parked. Service centre guy suggested to fix a

sticker on that scratch part. I am enclosing photos of scratches and need

your suggestions as to which place in chennai would be good to either

remove the scratch or cover it with sticker.

The Apollo tyre, that was installed last year gave up too soon. Bubble formation was there. I have put that in warranty claim(will change the front tyre, once I get the replacement).Click image for larger version

Now replaced rear tyre to Ceat Zoom. I must say, this is a very good tyre for the scoot.

TVS Jupiter - Oversize pistons, reboring help!

If i were to get a bit more power out of the scooter, what would be the best way?

Please let me know if there are oversize pistons available for the jupiters block and if it shares the block and piston with any other scooter/bike.

My mechanic said that best bore to 150cc which would be approx 4th oversize?

Upgrades are restricted to engine, fueling and exhaust system.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
