My Jupiter (Purchased in Jul 30, 2016) has now completed 4k.
I took my scooter on a long drive (190km in one day, split in 95km stretches) on past Sunday, with a pillion. It was a highway ride.
I decided to maintain my speed below or at 60kmph for the entire journey but darn, that's so boring. So I took risk and rode Jupiter in the orange zone throughout.
To my surprise the scooter behaves very smooth at speed >65kmph. In 55-65 range my Jupiter vibes a bit so I never had pushed it harder thinking that the higher range might be harmful for my engine, but this is not the case. With a pillion, on a flat straight road I could get to speed of 78kmph max, and about 83kmph without pillion. I checked the engine temperature and the storage space periodically but both temperature seemed to be well within limits.
Upon completing my journey I noticed that the battery vent tube's end was molten. I immediately went to my local mechanic but he assured that it's perfectly normal and there was no concern at all. He told me that Jupiter can be used for long distanced, without any worry.
The one day long journey made a noticeable difference in the engine. It now runs smoother and the NVH levels in 55-65 band have gone down drastically.
For record I used SHELL V-Power petrol. This is beautiful fuel and is worth the increased cost. Difference can be felt immediately.
I've been using TVS 20-W40 oil (against recommended 10W30) and it's giving me very good results. In my next oil change (at 4500km) I'll be switching to Motul synthetic oil. Have heard great things about it. Will update on that later.

Two days ago I signed up for test ride on suzuki's website.
I got a call yesterday from Jains Suzuki, Chennai for a test ride. I went around 3 p.m today and took a really long test ride on both the drum and disc brake variants. I should say I'M SOLD.
I had previously thought of buying Jupiter for many convenient features. I had also ridden it. I had to adjust myself and it was difficult for me to find the right riding posture even though the space was ZYADA. I should say suzuki access 125 has the best riding posture for a tall guy like me who comes from owning geared motorcycles and is looking for a comfortable scoot.
Here's a gist of my experience -
Reached the showroom and asked for a test ride of access. I was allowed to ride both the disc and drum brake equipped vehicles. I was taken to their godown nearby and we took the drum brake access; WE - me and the showroom fellow.
First feel - *swears* looks heavy but it is the lightest full size scoot I've been on! So easy and light to bring it out rolling.
Engine started quickly and the bike was quite and smooth. First throttle twist was not scary at all. The scoot moved swiftly and I went off roading! The road from the godown was actually mud and sand! I was having a pillion and I could still feel the lightness of the vehicle! I started playing with it - left, right, left, right and it didn't skid a bit! Amazing grip on sand even with a pillion. The drum brake had great feel but took time to show it's power.
I went to main roads which were laid well. Total fun! Zipped through traffic and even the smallest of gaps I had not taken any two wheeler into. In service lanes, there were huge trucks and tempos coming against us and I had to turn in quickly into the littlest of the gaps available. Again the scoot was in total control! Easy U-turns with pillion! No heaviness! Amazingly short turning radius - JUPITER EAT THIS.
We went back to the godown and there was a disc brake access waiting for us, actually me. Looks like this was a newer scoot and felt more eager - prolly freshly taken out. The disc brake was like wood. I was like, 'I'm not buying this'. The showroom boy warned me to carefully use the front brake on sand and on turns. After a few metres, I realised that even though it lacked feel, it stopped the vehicle quicker than drum brake version. There's a feel to it but it's heavy. You can feel that on the footboard - like the front forks pushing against the footboard everytime you brake. Actually the discs were still in break in period. It worked on my return trip to the godown - I started pumping the lever and I could gradually feel it's working. When I hit the brake one last time to stop in front of the godown, it locked the front wheel. The tyres held their grip and I could hear and see the skid prints of the front tyre on the sandy road. I was glad it worked.
On both the variants I had immense fun with the rear drum brake. It was easy to lock and drift - fishtailing on sandy surfaces should be common. Couple disc brake with rear drum brake and you can feel safe and stop the scoot quickly even with a pillion.
Surprisingly, the suspension setup is amazing and the floor board doesn't scrape the ground when going on roads that looked in sand dunes. The rear is stiffer than front and it is for a reason. I experienced the plush ride when I was at the pillion seat. Talking about the seat!!! So spacious for the pillion even when I scoot back as far as possible! When I was the pillion, I could still seat a person behind me! Nice space! The comfort is also influenced by how you change throttle when the going gets tough. It's crisp and the feel is amazing. You wouldn't want to slow down.
The front tyre is bigger right so it feels light and also gives amazing feedback to the handlebar. I could sense every single thing I was rolling over with the bike.
The rear tyre is small and looks disproportionate in photos. Only in photos. In real both sync so well. I think they have made it small so that it doesn't affect pick up and as well gives the right feedback at the front.
What else can I say! It's super easy to flick, underseat fits my helmet and I'm ready to spend more than Rs. 60k on it! It's doesn't look girly in person and is a very premium looking scoot. People of any age can use it, just like vespa. All in all the dealer was very cooperative and I had fun. I will be buying it in november. One more suzuki to my garage. I'm a suzki patron officially.
To describe the scoot in short - She's a graceful and confident lady who is dressed slick and with whom you would want to go on multiple dates, to fancy dinners, to dance salsa/ tango or to the ball, just to finally marry her in the end! She is damn trustworthy to age with peacefully.
Just buy it guys! It's the best at the moment. I wish you all luck to get a perfectly manufactured piece and enjoy the reliability of the brand!
To tvs jupiter - I'm going to ride you one more time and it's the only chance to get me! I'm already sold to this comfortable scoot!
Edit - I forgot to mention how stable the scooter is. You can come to absolute standstill in traffic/ while parking and still have your legs on the floorboard for many a seconds."

If you know to ride well then normal brakes are enough. Combi brakes are for people who come from smaller bikes or cycles and have used only rear brake. Otherwise the drum set up is enough for city speeds. I was also comparing this with maestro edge. But I had a feeling that for the base model Jupiter is completely loaded with absolute value for money. Also the ZX variant of jupiter which gets the combi brake come with very gaudy color combos. I'd better stay off. I wouldn't mind getting a disc but it's not going to change things that much. Rode the million R edition and I felt there was no need of disc brake for this scoot. I have finalized TVS Jupiter based on the reviews of this thread. Really awesome package for autoscoot.
Now i have to finalize on Normal Brakes or Combi brakes in Jupiter.
How is the effectiveness of combi brakes in jupiter.
Is normal brakes good enough for normal city rides
Is the stopping distance controlled better in combi brakes
Please suggest

Hi Hi,
I'm having plans to purchase jupiter. What I fear now is because of my previous experience with the TVS SVC. I used to service my RTR at Ramkay TVS Velachery, Chennai - the biggest TVS dealer in the city. They spoiled the bike and are not responsive to complaints - I've complained from their own SVC premises and they didn't even look up many a times.
TVS jupiter's facebook page is full of complaints. I also found a YouTube channel called 'rev it up' where the vlogger takes jupiter off roading in rivers and hills and does it comfortably. I am now skeptical about purchasing a TVS product. I do not have any connection with any mechanic outside, no trust in them/ never been to a mechanic away from SVC before.
I do not want to spend extra for a 125 cc scoot as this does everything that the 125 cc scoot will do for me, esp at lower costs. I know it all depends on luck when getting a two wheeler or any vehicle and I don't want to test my luck once again.
Somebody tell me if this product is really reliable. I do not want to go to the SVC every now and then. I will be using the vehicle for 30 km max for daily commuting in peak city traffic and for grocery shopping with parents.
I want to buy this but the thought of SVC is troubling me now - in short, this is my problem!

Edit: I have been avoiding tvs wego for one reason - it looks feminine compared to jupiter. But given that it has a similar price ta and also gets optional disc brake, how does it compare with jupiter? I've noticed that it is a lighter scooter as well. So do I get to enjoy more on wego than jupiter? Moreover I am 5'11" and would love to know which one would be cramped - if wego is the one, then that will be another reason to avoid it. If I'm buying a jupiter I'll buy the ZX variant which has SBS. I don't want a disc that badly.Last edited by srinath2494; 10-24-2016, 12:02 AM.

Our Jupiter has covered 18000 + kilometers in last 12 months. Going great. Engine noise at 35-45 is still heard.Originally posted by BlackPanther View PostThank you Vinod.

Bike safely handed over to my brother in law.
My 389xxK run Activa is sold to a close relative and the Streak will be moving soon as well. I have started saving for a new scoot for myself in 2016. It will either be a Wego or Jupiter.
I believe it was not serviced after the second service which we performed at TVS authorized service. Only Oil change is performed at petrol bunks.
Reliable so far.
It is good to see that the sale of Jupiter is increasing month on month. Still a long way to beat the Japanese products.

See bro, the initial batches of maestro edge did have vibration issues but engine on recent batches is butter smooth. The maestro edge is more stylish than Jupiter. My ride till work is 10kms. The whole route takes me upto 90 mins with bumper to bumper traffic and unlimited potholes. The whole scooty weighs around 160KG incl my pillion both ways.
Main Issue:
One same problem in last 3 months for atleast 6 times--
1. My scooty is running normally, we have run around 7-8kms of the route (once 4km, once 2km) the traffic is ok, I'm riding at 30-40KMPH max and suddenly scooty looses power, I get no jerk and the ignition is trying to maintain itself and within 10 meters the ignition is off.
My petrol tank is always more than half full
2. The scooty is for today running but with a drag like it's coming back and slowing down. 30KMPH is the maximum speed post which I feel it will give up and it's also become a phobia that it will stop and again.
Here's what I do:
1. Now I try to start it a few times but it won't start and I know it won't 'cos it's now a regular affair.
Just once the scooty started (last week) and the ignition stays but when I try to accelerate, there is no response and the ignition is off.
2. I drag it to the nearest roadside mechanic. The guy checks the pipes for leakage or proper fuel flow and if they're fine, he checks the spark plug for the blue spark and all that.
He would change the carburetor setting, high low and he would try just everything and it would end up starting and again in 10 days same issue.
3. But last week 3 mechanics could not start the scooty even after cleaning the whole carburetor. In heavy Mumbai rains I was dragging my scooty from one guy to another.
4. Finally a young mech kept it for a while and I left for office. Later he called and told me 'Air ka problem tha, Jupiter ka air clean nahi karte kyunki body kholni padti hai'
I know in Jupiter the air cleaner is supposed to be replaced every 12K kms and never cleaned.
Question:
What is happening? I have made a 300km + & return Gujarat tour twice on this TVS Jupiter with no issues at all with constant 70KMPH.
Scooty condition: POOR
1. It's a Sept 2014 model and only 4100kms run. For 4-6 months the scooty remains in the parking then I use it for 4-6 months and the routine continues.
2. I use regular Castrol engine oil and have never replaced anything inside except the pipes time and again.
Servicing is done by local mech only every time I want to use it for a while.
3. The manual says replace Air filter cvt filter element and spark plug at 12K kms or 12 months.
PLEASE HELP! What to do :'(
Please check the CDI and the sockets, if electric power is getting supplied properly.
