Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
agreed bro, but being an Indian not considering Fuel Effeciency is like losing our pehchaan LOL! With the fuel charges hikin now nd then one shud realy consider it. Even then being a middle class guy I have sacrificed some gud 10-20kms passing on Apache,FZ,Gixxer and even Pulsars for the KTMs. So I think I have earned the point of considering atleast a good 5-8kms between two varients hehe!Originally posted by Ishaan.humble View Post

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Hello everyone
I am planning on installing frame sliders on my RC, want to corner without fear of scrapping my fairing, etc. So anyone here have experience with sliders or anyone have them on.
Or anything I should be aware of please let me know.
Thanks you. 😊

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Frame sliders are not recommended for the rc because if you crash the impact will still be taken by the frame/chassis and thus deforming it. But buying the ones for the swingarm and suspension are okayOriginally posted by Shahreyar Najeeb View PostHello everyone

What's the protection offered by the fork sliders and swing arm sliders?Originally posted by Ishaan.humble View PostFrame sliders are not recommended for the rc because if you crash the impact will still be taken by the frame/chassis and thus deforming it. Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
The swingarm is fully cast aluminium so the sliders there will prevent it from breaking because cast aluminium is very brittle, and fork sliders will also do the same for forks.Originally posted by Shahreyar Najeeb View PostWhat's the protection offered by the fork sliders and swing arm sliders?

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Hey guys, I'm going to book RC200 in a week or two. Had visited Bannerghatta road KTM today and they had the updated model. The tyres have been changed to revz fc. Can I get feedback from any of you guys who has had an experience with Bannerghatta KTM? I found the staff to be better than the folks at rajajinagar KTM
Here are a few pics of the updated tyres on RC.

Don't.. The fairing costs 800-1000 bucks.. The sliders will cost 8000-10000..Originally posted by Shahreyar Najeeb View PostHello everyone

I'd rather replace the fairing than install the sliders.. Nothing will happen to your legs.. It will be fine..
The 200 will come with ABS.. That's AFAIK..Originally posted by abhi1991 View Posthi 200 owners am confused as hell between RC200 nd 390.
390 more bang for bucks - ABS (main reason)
But my worry is FE and Maint. cost like for say Metz gettin worn out soon
Will it be ok(budget frndly) for daily ride of 20-25km (up+dwn) on weekdays? or shud I settle with 200
Please suggest
Thanks

The fairing costs 4500+1500. The slider costs 3000. And sliders serves multiple crashes.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostDon't.. The fairing costs 800-1000 bucks.. The sliders will cost 8000-10000..

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Hi,
I have some queries.
Yesterday i booked the rc200 at ktm guwahati. As usual it was not a pleasant experience. They have said it will take 30 to 40 days to deliver the bike. Is the waiting period still that long? And the ktm is manufactured here in India right? By bajaj? Because the showroom guy told me that it is only assembled in India and that's why the long waiting period. I couldn't buy that reasoning and as i was not interested to start an argument, so I let it pass. He was lot older than me so I obviously knew it will hurt his ego and turn into an argument if I tried to shed some light in it.
And one more thing, how can buy the insurance from outside the showroom? Because the price they have quoted is high, it is 4k ( which they quoted 6k the last time i visited the showroom). When I said that I want to buy the insurance from outside, they said I must buy it there and i can't take the bike out of the showroom without an insurance. So is it true?. According to them i must take their insurance which is Sri Ram insurance or something ( which i don't even remember properly and never herd of).
So please help me.

Yeah the bike is manufactured here in India only. The insurance cost is more or less 4k. I suggest you buy the insurance from the dealer itself as it would be easier to process if you want to claim it.Originally posted by PULKRY0 View PostHi,

30 to 40 days is way too much waiting time. Its normally less than 15 days and mostly a week in most cities. But am not sure about the logistics involved in GuwahatiOriginally posted by PULKRY0 View PostHi,

Now coming to the insurance part, its a known tactic by the showroom people to sell the insurance along with the bike and most folks don't even question it or the amount.
You can definitely buy insurance from outside and show them the paper work, it will cost you less (6k was way too much, i guess its around 3200rs). And yes legally you cant take the bike out of the showroom without insurance.. but you can definitely note down the engine/chassis numbers and first buy the insurance and show them the papers and collect the bike. ICICI, hdfc have online insurance purchase facility.
