You are not applying enough pressure to upshift, this is common. You need to put a little more force to upshift to 2nd, because the lever need to pass through Neutral.

My issue is the gear doesn't engage to 1st from Neutral, it just stuck in the middle and falls back to neutral. I need to release the clutch couple of times and then shift to 1. I will post you an update when I get some time to visit SVC. If you guys know the culprit on this issue, please let me know.

Yea please do update. As I am facing similar issue.
It happens 2 times in 10 times for me.
It doesn't engage in gears shows blank in gears display. When riding sometimes I am unable to shift to 1st gear. And sometimes it automatically shifts to neutral from first or second while the vehicle is in motion.

Shifting to neutral is close to impossible nowadays for me.

Sometimes 4th-5th gear grinds which is a very harsh sound (garrrrr).

Any one has any info or faced this problem please help me out.

for all the gear-changing issues, please check the gear rod, I had my share of similar issues and apparently the gear rod was spoilt, the reason given by svc folks - when bike is parked, folks coming around to "look" at the bike, switch gears and tadaaa.. you got your gear messed up..

thankfully, I could get mine replaced under warranty.. so yeah..

Thats not what I'm talking about, i mean gear slipping like when shifting from 1 to 2, the second gear is engaged but as i twist the throttle gear slips and engages/disengages continously and it feels like i am blipping the throttle or pressing the clutch while throttle is engaged. It was weird but it never happened again.

Clutch has too much freeplay and chain is tight, Get them under specs , problems will go away.

My gearbox has gotten clunky lately both up shifts and downshifts, really noticable between 2nd and 3rd gear, what could be the reason? I've done just ~4.4k kms till now. It was butter smooth before, never clunky or hard to shift. Noticed this a few days ago

the bolts on my fairing fell off coz the svc guy was careless and whatever happened.. now I've been following up since THREE weeks for a fix, that guy simply says, "no bolts available" then I today went and blew the steam off.. and BOOM nuts just appear out of nowhere & I'm charged 40 bucks.. isn't it great.. I'm paying for the errors of the svc..

not just that, the outlet pipe for my coolant reservoir is broken AGAIN!! and they said, "let the engineer inspect and determine if it's under warranty".. what can get more pathetic than to manufacture a poor quality product and say "pay to get it fixed coz it's not in warranty" well.. guess Bajaj/KTM is going to lose one customer soon.....

                        My story of visiting SVCs:

                        - First svc done at KTM Banjara Hills (heard they are good and blah blah)
                        - Time for Second Service, took 1 WEEK prior appointment and on the exact day, they gave a lame excuse "the mechanic is on leave coz he went to a marriage. The other mechanic is very busy and loaded with bikes". then why the hell don't you have a third mechanic or increase the capacity!?!??!? don't you know how many bikes you are getting daily and how many you are able to service and how many stations you need???? or are you blind/deaf/dumb and senseless!?!??! and finally he replied to me on my face "we will NOT service your bike sir".
                        - went to Begumpet, they did it for me.. lazy folks, won't start until it's 11-12 in the day!!!! and finish the job lousy and half in "hurried" fashion to cover bikes quickly!!!
                        - new showroom opened at A S Rao Nagar, one of the experienced mechanic at Begumpet is posted over there. Hence, they told me to go there AFTER like 11 AM and I was wasting my time for 2 hours standing in the line to get my bike serviced..
                        - third service, it went well..
                        - 4th service, he screwed up with the screws on the fairing and the bolts came off
                        - Shocks are not as good as they used to be.. hence went to another new showroom that recently opened, KTM Kompally.. they said that the shocks need to be replaced under warranty and took all details and stuff.. they seemed genuine.. and told me to call back after 1 week.. and when I called back, *POOF* new staff and they have NO IDEA about what's going on.. left that place hopeless... the old staff changed my fork oil, surprisingly the oil they charged me was lower than the quantity from the book.. that I realized AFTER I came home.. and now the shocks are rock hard and move only on high impact and would simply transfer the regular shocks on to me..
                        - the Begumpet & the A S Rao Nagar KTM are same dealer from who I purchased, started following up for 3 weeks and this dude says, "since you got your bike serviced from the other guy last, go to him and he will find a "fix" for you" and I was like "wtf??!" "hey, I went there coz you told me to!!" "yes anna, but I can't do anything coz he did it" *POOF* washed his hands off of the matter, after I lost my cool, I told him that I've been following up for 3 bloody weeks and why the hell is he making me suffer for two bloody bolts!!! and then magically the bolts appear with a price tag of 40 bucks... had to pay for them.. or my bike just won't shut the hell up!!!

I've had my share of bad experience at the service center..

                        my observations:

                        - Nobody wants to service the bikes
                        - they just don't want customers coming in
                        - they only want to have fun and simply sit
                        - and they complain to me that they are getting paid low wages (5K to 6K) per month and ask me "how can you expect quality??"

well, if you do your job properly, you will get more $$$, you get paid just the way you work.. fair enough.. but who is the end sufferer?? ME!!!! NOT BAJAJ/KTM!!! They made their sales and washed off their hands..

at the time of buying, the attitude of the manager, awesome.. he said "don't waste time in checking the bike for 1.5 hours" well, my bike, my wish, I check her for as long as I want and I didn't pay you 2 lakhs for nothing!!!

somehow, they still manage to make the sales with the most pathetic after sales support...

upon inquiry, this is a problem with ALL brands, Honda was way worse, he simply said, "sir your bike is too old, change it, fixing it won't do, stop wasting your time and my time", well, there's a reason why I pay you for your "service" you n00b!!! feel like burning their building down and smile as they cry that their investment is hurt... now that might just give me some satisfaction...

Basic maintenance you can do for yourself like engine oil change brake oil chain slack etc etc
Or else find a local mechanic who is capable of working on duke or rc.. You'll be better off that way.. I have got best svc here but again the same problem lousy mechanics and for head cant say anything for him as he'll always favour the mechs..

Sad story.....no law to sue the a$$ people....even years back same thing at Harley Davidson Hyderabad and people parked there bikes out side showroom to agitate.
I am willing to pay a premium but why can't I get a good service that to from a all Indian company.

That's exactly the problem... These high end bikes are specialized and they know that other than the SVC, nobody is trained to do them.. Hence the protest by Harley folks at the showroom only and nowhere else...!!!!
