Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Hi,
Finally i have got my rc. ☺
Actually i have got it a few days back. I have been busy riding and i have already clocked around 600 kms. Moreover the delivery experience was surprisingly good as i was not expecting much from them and had fare share of trouble with them before. But still i am happy it went all good and smooth on the delivery day. There were some instances where i was a lil disappointed, like the way they manhandle the bikes and the way they keep it like diplay bikes where each bike has little scratch or dirt on it. But ignored that as i couldn't do anything. Instead of ruining my day, i decided to be happy and to go with it and ignored it.
Now coming to the bike...
The bike is smooth and acceleration is just awsome.
Plus i am happy that there is nothing loose or ratling so far.
The suspension is good and the stability is really surprising going over the potholes at considerable speeds.
I have stiffen the rear preload to lvl 6 as it was lil soft for me.
Its been just 4 days and i am already about to clock 1000 kms. Have to ride again for over 200 kms for aprox 5 hours to the service centre. Such pain.
The only thing that I don't like about this bike, is the cleaning. Its such a pain cleaning it.
But that's just nitpicking. ☺
Oh and the mileage i am getting is 30 to 35, which is not bad.
The bike just begs to corner...
I have a query. When i ride the bike over bumpy roads (not bad road or potholes, I am talking about the roads which are in good condition but the surface is not so plain and hence it feels bumpy or lil uneven ), there is a wierd vibration on the handlebars like it's buzzing when the suspension travels up and down. I don't think it's due to engine braking or engine vibration. Because it only happens while i am breaking or going over uneven roads. Since i didn't take a test ride on this, I am not sure if it's a normal thing. Is it something to be worried about or it's just normal characteristics of the bike?Last edited by PULKRY0; 04-30-2016, 02:02 AM.

Guys I am currently facing a problem in my RC 200 wherein I can see oil deposition on my front right side shock absorber assembly. The lubrication oil residue on the right shaft is much more compared to the left one. I am afraid that there may be an oil leakage from the piston as I can see oil stains even on the plastic housing of the shaft and on the portion of the rims and trye that lies exactly beneath the shaft while parked. Could anyone explain to me the gravity of this situation and has anyone experienced this before?

Rs. 120 is the price of only the leverOriginally posted by PULKRY0 View PostGuys, what is the price of the clutch lever?
Today, i accidentally dropped my bike while trying to park it. Because the side stand did not engage properly and the bikes clutch lever is bent.

Hey, going by description I'm guessing it be a fork oil leakage. By mentioning plastic housing of the shaft, are you referring the front fender?Originally posted by shadymaniac313 View PostGuys I am currently facing a problem in my RC 200 wherein I can see oil deposition on my front right side shock absorber assembly. If it is a fork oil leakage as I guess and if it is as bad as you are finding them on the rim and tyre, it is very badly leaking and you should stop driving the bike and take it to svc to fix the leak asap, as it can get in contact with the tyre contact surface/brake disc rotor and which may cause bike to crash and much more. Believe me fork leak as bad as this should be fixed asap without any delay else consequences would be devastating.
P.S: pictures would make us understand the issue you are describing in a much better manner.

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Any traces of oil near the front fork tubes, fork plastic, all mean the either one of the forks have developed a leak. There should be absolutely no traces of oil or any liquid substance on the tube especially after a spirited ride.Originally posted by shadymaniac313 View PostGuys I am currently facing a problem in my RC 200 wherein I can see oil deposition on my front right side shock absorber assembly. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

That's definitely an oil leak from the fork.Originally posted by shadymaniac313 View PostGuys I am currently facing a problem in my RC 200 wherein I can see oil deposition on my front right side shock absorber assembly. Some ktm dealers have this tool called the 'fork doctor' , which can be used to clean/remove the grime from under the seal. In some cases this might arrest the leak for good. I've had mine cleaned during regular services and did notice that it does a good job of cleaning. The right fork seal went bust at around 18k km which i believe was due to going over 100 speed breakers during one particular ride
If the cleaning doesn't help, you will need to have the fork seals replaced along with fresh oil. This will be done under warranty and you will only have to pay for the fork oil (which is 450ml per fork leg)
Since these being USD forks, if the leak is not arrested quickly you will end up with losing most of the oil. I rode with the busted seal for two days and on the second day there was a pool of oil on the front rim (was standing parked in office) and i rode it home slowly and left it in parking for two days before i could take it to the svc.. and some more oil had seeped out and it handled like a boat

I was considering doing that onlyOriginally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostNow that you have broke your lever get an lever with adjustments in it. It looks fancy. Also you could adjust the grab size.
. But i will keep that for later because right now my budget is set towards some riding gears. Budget is tight at the moment.

Guys i have an issue. It has been just a week since I bought the bike and i have just noticed that my handlebar is slightly bent towards the right side. While riding the stability of the bike is fine but when ridden without holding the handlebars it sways to the left.
Can this be a easy fix or do i have to replace the triple clamp or the handlebars?
Here are some pics
