Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
These are parts that need to be replaced based on their wear limits not at set km intervals. It all depends on how you ride the bike and maintenance(chain). for someone who neglects maintenance's, runs a tight chain, pops wheelies and accelerates hard at every opportunity these parts might give up at around 10-12k.Originally posted by Ishaan.humble View PostHey guys i was wondering when is the right time to change the clutch sprocket set? My bike has 20k on the odo and the ktm mechanic says its still in good condition!
Mine has done 21k and fellow member Ajay's has crossed 22k iirc.. and we are still on the stock clutch plates and chain-sprocket.. and mine looks like it will last at-least another 5-7k km.

I am pretty regular with chain maintenance and generally ride smoothly so i think i am good to go for quite some time!Originally posted by s1d View PostThese are parts that need to be replaced based on their wear limits not at set km intervals. There's no right "time" it would depend on wear & tear.. Like s1d said, ours are still on stock and we are running them for over 22-23K kms... I'm now 24K KMs...Originally posted by Ishaan.humble View PostHey guys i was wondering when is the right time to change the clutch sprocket set? The thing with these chains are regular lubing... I lube mine every 500kms.. And every 1000 kms, I use kerosene and clean the while chain... If you don't rip a lot, it will come a long time.. I do rip a bit.. s1d doesn't rip at all... But its debatable... I tighten the chain every service only.. (6000 Kms) that too little tightening only.. KTMs are great just that they are not your average Honda/Yamaha commuters and are a little bit more attention seekers and need simple maintenance.. And they will love you back..
live long.. live happy.. that's the best revenge that can be served to the people who hate you..

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Do you really tighten the chain at 6000 km interval . doesn't it get loose within 1000 kms.i am amazed by your chain tightening interval as I heard that any bike chain needs tightening once in 1000-2000 km.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostCongratulations... Welcome to the KTM family...
