Thank you Bike Lover! Downloaded the manual and it worked great! Mistakes in hard copy. You need to press "Mode" till Shift RPM 2, press and hold "Set" button to set it.

Thanks Archan! It's been about a month, still the rider seat is not comfortable for me, lucky you . Believe me, vibrations are never a concern. Bike really feels more refined where others complain about (I never owned a Honda )! Grips, I feel more comfortable without gloves. I guess the culprit was my gloves. Looking for some good Fabric gloves for city use.

Best way to perform "Run-in" is riding inside city traffic (my personal choice and recommendation). The engine will be less strained. Riding inside city benefits: You won't be riding on a same speed, you will be changing gears frequently so the bike runs on every gear frequently compared to run only on sixth gear during highway runs. Another small recommendation is never run in the same speed for longer, if you are riding in highway.

I don't think radiator will not clog that easily just because of dust! Powerparts stickers are not worth the money, they are certainly overpriced. I think still those stickers are not available, you may need to wait longer. I haven't done any extra fittings so far, I am currently in the process of weight reduction. I have removed Saree guard, wheel hugger, pillion grab handle and front number plate. We may soon see someone posting about the extra fittings, lets wait and watch!

Congrats Shabi, you got yourself a beautiful ride, ride safe! I am sorry to read about your mishap, this kind of loose nuts are everywhere, be cautious. Have you done anything regarding the bruises in fairing? Was that coolant pipe broken during the fall? Please get to you SVC and perform a complete check.

Thank you Ajay, Mad Club sounds better than Mental club . Hell yeah, fiddlers do that all time. I was totally prepared for that. I have requested my parking security to have a look on the bike quite often and I pay him a bit too. But I don't know how many time this security guy is fiddling around. Until RC becomes a usual sight like R15, it is going to be a tough time.

Sure I will post few pics tonight or tomorrow morning. Bike look great from rear. I removed the number plate and put up a number plate sticker in visor. I planned to put dark tint in the visor and place number plate sticker. Everything came out well, but next morning to my surprise the dark tinted film got shrunk due to direct sun's heat and lots of air bubbles. Temporarily i pasted it just like that and it doesn't look good. Soon I am going to make it again, but this time from a experienced hand. Please be aware that once you remove the number plate, the mirrors will dangle, so you need to place a few washers or some foam support to compensate the removed plate thickness. I don't know what rattle sound you are talking about? I have never experienced any rattles so far.

I remember someone said the dukes grips were harder and they preferred the RC's grips ! Why dont you simply get the grip covers (would hardly cost Rs 75 a pair) and available at any local spares shops. You can either chose those colored spongy kind or a simply black rubbery plastic kind, i prefer the latter though.

Coming to gloves, if you are not against desi stuff like studds then please take a look on snapdeal.. Studds has released a few gloves, you can chose one of them.(SMG2 ,3, or 4)

well, I'm sure that a PDI will not be done to deliver the bikes fast, see my signature & take a print out of the list of things that I listed to check the bike before taking delivery. Trust me, it saved my ass the other day. I found that indicators & break lights were not working properly!! the showroom guy was confidently telling that PDI tests are done and the bike has no faults and when I whipped out this list & started checking and found flaws & asked him, he said that once in a while it happens, but he'll get it fixed. and on the day of the delivery also he said that PDI is done & that my list is all good coz they did a PDI. Such white lies they tell on your face!! those guys are really shameless just to grab your money & shove the bike down your throat!! so, be careful & make sure you take your own sweet time to check the bike out..

and always ask for discounts. but AFAIK, they won't give any. but no harm in trying.

All the best.

PS : maybe the checklist might give you something to fight & find something that you can demand freebies & discounts

guys i own a unicorn and i was wondering what milage these bikes give in practicality ? As i have bought unicorn just 2 years back which has decent milage and maintainance is negligible please share maint. cost and service centre expiriences

also when KTM is launching rc 125
i specifically liked the color scheme of KTM

thanks in advance

I think Ajay Vishwanath would answer your question better, as he has upgraded from an Unicorn. He can provide you the maintenance cost in comparison with his Unicorn and RC 200.

BTW KTM or Bajaj will never launch any KTM 125 variant in India and they have made the statement pretty clear!

Not wise to compare the two!
KTM 125 isn't getting launched anytime soon.

Unicorn is like a mature adult. No shenanigans. Full of purpose. Ride at 40 kmph or 70 kmph at whatever revs, it hardly complains. Putters along nonchalantly!
RC (200/390) is a toddler. It has its tantrums and demands. Fulfill those demands and see the grin on your face with the reaction that adolescent provides! Hates to be ridden below 4.5k RPM. Especially in city. Rev it to 5k+ and fly!

Unicorn and RC series have no competition on mileage either. Again, unfair to compare them both. Also, since RC has more gadgetry on it, you have more parts to monitor and maintain.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
