The second half of your post is one of the most basic and extremely helpful posts in this thread!

Never hold the handlebar with all your power. Just perch on it!
Never push your weight on the bars either. That way, your wrists would pain!
      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Since your upgrade was from a high precision Jap, this high compression engine would definitely give you annoyance. Solution: AFAIK get used to it
Its rather absurd that before service I did not feel vibrations. I think cuz i restricted myself under 6000 RPM and never did sudden acceleration. Even if I hold the steering light what about the under seat vibration

ummm unless your bike has some sort of major manufacture defect most likely your engine will need to "butter up" (smoothness )
i personally feel how one rides the bike day to day eventually reflects to a third person ( same bike owner that is)
i for example always like to drive in the power band generally..(makes riding inputs way more comitted over long period)
so alot depends on that also maybe your engine needs to munch more kms before it has some smoothness to it
i ran in my 1000km pretty quick like 1 week 3 days
so my riding style is very different from yours my engine also became smoother after 1st service accelertion seemed way more linear

any how man these are my 2 paisa's
glad if this banter seemed helpful.

Anyone share the same experience and solution to offer?

Are you guys as furious as me over the launch of the new pulsar 200. It's got the same engine as the rc, similar specs, identical instruments, additional benefits like ABS and decent fiber body at extremely lower price. What the hell is Bajaj doing man. I don't think any sensible guy on earth would buy the rc unless that person is extremely fixated on ktm or has extreme hatred for pulsar. Can someone share their thoughts on whether I'm an uneducated idiot ranting with half known facts or it's justified.

I dont think that the RC and the RS200 share the same engines. The similarities end at the engine capacity and power made. The styling is a subjective thing, so cant say anything about that.

Also isnt the difference between the RC200 and the RS200 similar to the Pulsar 200NS and the Duke 200. I dont think people had such a reaction when the 200NS was launched (I know that that 200NS doesnt come with FI and optional ABS).

I think the simple difference would be that one can go for the KTM bikes for better overall build quality, brand name, better equipment, more power, lighter and and rabid acceleration(200 atleast).

The things in favour of the Bajaj bikes would be value for money, similar power to the KTMs and cheaper to maintain.

Correct me if I am wrong

Didn't you know beforehand that Bajaj would use some of the underpinnings/lessons from the Duke to Pulsar? It happened with 200NS.
                          Its perfectly natural!

Firstly It has almost the same power as RC but it weights almost 25 KG's heavier than RC200, secondl it is also missing telescopic fork. thirdly it is not ORANGE :P

Personal choices :P WHY SO FURIOUS ???

So Now gents, look at this
Engine Displacement: 199.5 CC on both bikes
Power: 23.2 bhp @ 9500 rpm on the RS, 24.7 bhp @ 10000 rpm on the RC. Power comes in early on the RS makes it better on the city runs
Torque: 1.9 kgm @ 8000 rpm on the RS, 1.9 kgm @ 8000 rpm on the RC - Exactly the same
Brakes: RS 200 gets 300mm petal disc brake, RC 200 gets a 280mm rotor
                                Lights: Dual Projectors on both
                                Suspension: Same

And as for the Duke and NS comparison, they released the bikes almost at the same time and hence buyers had a choice to differentiate on the basis of looks, riding stance and better engine.

The RC and RS are set apart only in the looks and the character, RC being more track focused and RS being commuter and everyday use machine. Hell RS also gets ABS. Why the hell does the same manufacturer not provide better electronics/features on a bike which costs more than the other one and comes from the same stable. Bajaj released the RC in September last year so that the first movers will jump on the opportunity to get their hands on the mean looking bike. They waited for sales to go up for the RC, when it reached its decent point, they have launched the RS.

Now come to think of it what do the buyers of the RS have to lose, they get same bike which looks different, but performs same as the RC, has bigger tank and has ABS at lesser price. They will be mocking at the RC owners. We spent more money for not much.
